THE AFL match review panel has cleared Fremantle defender Antoni Grover of an incident in Sunday's NAB Cup clash with Richmond at Subiaco Oval.
Grover collected Richmond's Dean Polo in a marking contest, opening up a cut on the Tiger's face, during the Dockers three-point loss.
The contact was described as a legitimate spoil.
It means Grover will be free to play in Fremantle's next pre-season match against the loser of Friday night's clash between Carlton and North Melbourne.
The match will be played at Manuka Oval in Canberra.
Glad he's been cleared.... but is this another journo who doesn't know what he's on about? Aren't suspensions in the NAB cup only able to be served either in the NAB Cup if your club is still in it, or in the season proper if you get knocked out? Can't a player still play in the challenge series if he's suspended? My understanding is that if he got done, he would have been available to play all pre-season, but would have had to sit out the first game (or two) of the H&A...
Anyway - all good, he's clear!
