Some campaigner nicked the contents out of our mailbox the other day. Nothing expensive just cheap bits from China for machinary repairs. 3 items total of about 30 bucks. All tracked and got a message they were delivered round 9am get home to find some discarded packaging by the road. More annoyed it will take another 6 weeks for the replacements I ordered to come.
Given we live down a no through gravel road pretty keen and bold heist.
Nekminit gets a call from the local constabulary. Seems the pricks were cruising round in a stolen car doing over mailboxes as they found some of the packaging addressed to me in the recovers vehicle. Didn't get my partsback however.
dunno if they have got them yet.Sure local constabulary were very gentle with them.

offered a salary which I couldn't pass up. When I said sure send out the the contract, they wanted to announce it right away
So they wanted to back you into a corner where you had to take the job (before you had signed a contract) and then substantially reduce the offered salary?I get an email "sorry, we said the wrong salary on the zoom call. It's actually <not much more than I'm on now>. That's ok?"
i wound tell em both,Got offered a job yesterday. Said I didn't really want to leave mine, but they did the hard sell over a few weeks and offered a salary which I couldn't pass up. When I said sure send out the the contract, they wanted to announce it right away, but I said hold off until I chat to my boss. (Small industry, everyone talks, said I'd like to tell people on my terms).
Anyway 4:58pm yesterday I get an email "sorry, we said the wrong salary on the zoom call. It's actually <not much more than I'm on now>. That's ok?"
Decided to sleep on it before responding. 24 hours later I'm t still undecided if I tell them to shove it, or just to ram it.
Shove it unless you are unhappy with your current employer. Not a very professional start.Got offered a job yesterday. I just read Chief's comment and its pretty close to my opinion. Could be a genuine mistake but it sure seems like they are trying to put you in a position where you have to take the job at the lower salaryGot offered a job yesterday. They sound like campaigners.
I am shocked that Chief posted…in here….

Think about adding some more roughage.I was bloody grumpy a couple of nights ago when the family and I arrived home and I hear the dreaded scream of “the toilet’s blocked!”
This was after a long day of phone messages to say there was a positive Covid case in my son’s school class and another within my daughter’s callisthenics team, for which Mrs Toes assists. All three had to have PCR tests and I had to call an emergency plumber who’d unblocked the bastard by 2am. Another couple of plumbers returned today to reline the damaged and ancient terracotta pipe section with 3 metres of PVC piping and I waved bye bye to $5,600 all up.
Ya gotta love old houses! [emoji107]

ours settled tomorow, bitter sweet, nice that it has sold but was a nice place to live for 20 odd years. and yes we had the terra cotta blues, had to replace a far bit of the stormwater and all the terra cotter tiles on the roof.I was bloody grumpy a couple of nights ago when the family and I arrived home and I hear the dreaded scream of “the toilet’s blocked!”

my stihl was exactly the same, threw the OEM carby in the bin and replaced with a yum cha and now it pulls like a train. due to emmissions laws there is no L or H adjustment on the OEM so you cant richen it up.Ha Ha!!!
My Ryobi 2 stroke line trimmer had been giving me the proverbials for a long time. I have an electric one as well that uses the same fittings but it isn't cordless - it got m by.
The 2 stroke one was getting harder and harder to start and was always flooding. I could get it to go occasionally with a lot of mucking around - even having to remove the carby and blow it out with the compressor. It was destined for the next hard waste collection for sure - until....
I bought a replacement ebay carby for $22 delivered - with spark plug, fuel lines, filters and everything. Ordered on Sunday - delivered at 5:30 today. Ryobi was running 30 minutes after tea!
Not yet - but has to happen eventually.Anyone got battery powered lawn mowers etc?
Bloke we bought our zero turn off just migrated to a robotic battery mower.Anyone got battery powered lawn mowers etc?
friends had one ( battery push mower) really struggled with kukuya and buffolo, ok for rye and clover lawns. Not yet - but has to happen eventually.
I had a decent mower - bought it, then on a whim we sold the house and moved into a duplex that had no lawn. Gave the near new mower to the FIL. He gave it away to somebody else, then I moved back into a real house so I had to get another mower. I got a self propelled / self starting mower which is OK - just a cheap one from Bunnings (Victa sold the identical mower for a fair bit more in a different colour). But I'll concede to getting a battery mower at some point in time I guess.
