Are there any old grumps here who have grandkids that still have a DVD player and are in need of a few new movies.

I'm taking about dozens. Hundreds even. All DVDs by the kilogram. Sourced from parts unknown (assume China).

Hell, i will throw in a DVD or Blu-ray player if needed.

All I need is for someone who can pick up the box from Frankston.

Hundreds of young kids movies.

If you are intending to head down to Melbourne any time soon I can hang on to them.

It's hard waste season at our place and I'm under pressure to have a lot of stuff moved on. But I am sure I can find a shelf somewhere with enough space to hold them if you want.

The DVDs are a mix of just about every kids movie there has ever been.

Best I've got is reminding some CEO that only a few people know who he even is, no one cares who he is, that to the rest of the world he is nobody but a bald old bloke with a family who hate him. He had cut a line, abused some hotel staff and 'chop chop'd them to fetch him a bottle of water.

Back in the day though, everyone knew him to be fair…

Used to get them all the time when I worked in hotels. They’d just abuse any younger reception staff they could get to.
Had to remind them that to us they were just another a-hole who would be blacklisted. They would all bluster that we’d cost the hotel company, which owned a hell of a lot of the 5 star and corporate preferred hotels, a s**t ton of money. All we ever heard back was the occasional apology.

Same here when I worked in hotels. My favourite was when they'd ask "do you know who I am?".....mate, if you have to ask....

I never stayed employed in that field for long

That thread was created for Ligma. If she likes Snow White, Princess in fairyland or Aeriel in wonderland she's welcome to them. I am not sorting through the disks though.


I have hoarded about a thousand blank DVDs for about 10 years too. Now I'm finally dumping the lot. I had an old Macbook and a Lenovo with DVD writers but I wouldn't know when was the last time I played any kind of disk other than vinyl.

My wife's sister used to live in China so we had a million DVDs although these one's are from another equally off-colour source.

Sunday morning, nice and easy after another late night of football. Best little mate, watching some loud dope on the Youtube machine, and kicking whichever ball in a net on a string .... Sounds like soldiers marching down the street .... the constant, rhythmic sound of the ball being kicked. Mate I said, do you have to. Yep. Take it outside. It's too cold. Put a shirt on. I don't want to wear a shirt. Any chance you could do it in your bedroom. Nope.

It might be a first world problem, but I don't reckon I'd be able to get him to fetch a bucket of water from the river either.

Drop them in to a local kinder mate, or even see if Frankston Primary want them. They have before and after school care and I know my best little mate watches movies down here sometimes
