It's also happening on the 360, and that guy might have overeacted a bit, apparently RockStar has said that if this happens then you should delete your game data and reinstall GTA IV.

Was playing this game at a mates for 3 hours yesterday, it's un____ing believable, fiinding the missions a bit tough but it's mostly to do with new controls and the sluggishness of the cars, will take some time to get over this.

The graphics are amazing, he did a weapons cheat to see what the weapons are like, shot down a helicopter and the explosions are unreal.

Also threw a molotov into a crowd of people, they all scream on the ground rolling around, so lifelike.

Plus there are shitloads more cops in this game, all way smarter than ever and it's ____ing harder to get away since I don't know where the Pay'N'Sprays are yet.

Overall looks to be a game capable of taking over our lives haha.

And Michelle is definitely an undervocer cop, she is always asking about the people Niko associates with, crime etc. Bitch be cool!

Guess so, the game is hugely replayable and it has only been out for a day, couldn't have gone that far into the game.

The same thing was happening with Assassins Creed when it came out, and about a week later there was a patch so I have no doubt that a patch will be available very soon.

And looking at those forums, all those poor suckers have tried that and more. Even a 3.5 hour format of the PS3 didn't work.

That guy has a 40gb Aussie PS3 too.

And hey at least with PS3 it's just one game (that occurs on 360 as well) that can be fixed with a patch, instead of the whole console.

I have a PS3 with GTA and a mate has the XBOX with GTA can not tell any difference at all so just lay off the slanging match. Bump a previous thread if you want to do so

This thread should be entirely for GTA discussion not a slanging match over which game looks better on which console. Who cares it a great game on either

I had this same problem so I called Rockstar. The lady on the phone told me to erase the game data (the original install and the game saves) and then start over. I did what she told me to do and the freezing problem went away.



And can the person who made this thread please include this information in the original post?

You might have missed the numbers before KP, PS3 runs GTA at 640p 0xAA, 360 720p 2xAA.

360 is the superior version.

who knows wat could cause the data to be corrupted. It could be a case of variables a, b, c, x, y, z all have to be of certain values for the condition to be met to corrupt the data - kinda thing, or something like that.

either way it sounds more logical than deleting game saves. a same game you would assume can only cause issues if u open that save game.

So far 100% of the reviews and 100% of posters here who own btoh versions say PS3 looks better.

Numbers mean nothing for 360 if the result looks worse.

Just had the best GTA moment ever, I as you do, decided to drive my car into a busy street just before it was about to catch on fire.

As it caught on fire I ran for a good viewing point & the action started first the car I was driving blew up & made another 4 or 5 catch alight when they exploded everything went nuts, car after car kept trying to drive through the inferno . They then blew up, ambos cam drove into the furnace & bye bye to them.

All up about 30 cars went up in smoke.

i've got both, and it is a great game - it's just greater on PS3. In a thread on multi-platform games its hardly out of place to compare the two versions.

my tv displays the resolution when i'm in HDMI mode. I'll have to remember to check it tonight

Well, GTA4 looks much better on PS3 than 360 - yet has a lower native res, so clearly it hasn't made a difference, except perhaps a positive one, agreed?
