Always thought people who called cars "hot" and the like were quite weird. But damn, to me, a Les Paul is one sexy guitar!

Been collecting guitars both electric and acoustic for many years now & am pretty proud of my collection.

Apart from various run of the mill and cheaper acoustic electrics my 2 Favourite guitars by far are my Gretsch country gentleman double cutaway & an old Cimar (Early Ibanez) Strat which was one of my first ever guitars.

Acoustic favourite is a very old Maton EM325.

This thread has made me want to pick some of my guitars that I haven't played in a while :)

I ain't into boring shapes and guitars so it suits me well ;)
Yeah, its not that i detest them, i do understand why people like them.

Then again im just not a huge fan of Ibanez guitars overall,

Currently have a Mexican Strat and two Epiphone Les Pauls, as well as a couple of shitty acoustics, and am intending on getting either a Jazzmaster, Jaguar or Telecaster for my next Geetar.

Being left handed is good in a lot of ways, but it's a bitch of a thing when it comes to purchasing a new axe, fwiw.

My baby - ESP Kiko Loureiro Signature series.

Also have an old strat copy that I'm doing up, bought a Jackson neck for it and going to give it a swirl paint-job.

Play with a Marshall Valvestate 80v and a Zoom G2 Effects pod.

Fender Stratocaster: White with Maple board. Locking tuners, LSR Roller Nut, Left handed AS Bridge, Hipshot Tremsetter and Texas Special Pickups. When I installed the pickups I inverted them to get a "Hendrix read" so the bass end is heard by the treble end and vice-versa. Dunno if it really makes all that much difference, but it was something to do. Also, I wired it so the bridge pu goes to one tone control knob and the other two pu's tone on the middle pot. Good idea IMO.

Fender Stratocaster: Lake Placid Blue with Rosewood board. Locking Tuners, Floyd Rose nut, Left handed Floyd Rose Bridge with a D-tuna, Hipshot Tremsetter, Symour Duncan 59'er Humbucker in neck position, Duncan JB Humbucker in bridge position. The only controls are a Gibson 3-way toggle and two volume knobs with 500 ohm push-pull pots. The push-pull coil taps the bridge pu making it a single coil. The other reverses the polarity or phase shifts the neck pu.

Those are my main two guitars that I can take anywhere. The White One is set up to be tuned 1/2 step flat and I use it for Blues, Hendrix, SRV and anything Stratty. The Blue One is a workhorse that can be used for anything from 80's metal to Country to Jazz - whatever. It can sound like a Tele or a Gibson or anything almost. Ironically it never sounds like a Strat.

Gibson SG: Heritage Cherry. I only bought this because I always wanted one. I like it well enough, but I usually take my Strats if I'm playing out somewhere. I can get a great SG sound out of my Blue Strat.

Gibson ES-335. It's a natural mahogany. Great for Jazz and Blues.

Danelectro: Black and White like Jimmy Page's Dano. I bought it and a Red Sunburst Les Paul when I was going through a hard Led Zeppelin phase. I'm still not out of that phase, but I didn't like the Les Paul. It was heavy, breakable (it broke and I had to fix it) but most importantly I can get good Zeppelin tones out of other guitars. So I sold the Les Paul. I wouldn't want another unless I became a millioinaire and got into collecting guitars.

1966 Epiphone Coronet: This is a fine little guitar made back when Epi's where still made in the US under Gibson. It's been stripped down. I put Fender tuners on it and a Duncan Zebra 59'er Humbucker. A friend of mine put a beautiful Cherry see-thru finish on it. It looks better than the finish Gibson has on my SG. This was my first guitar. Got it for my 14th birthday. A friend of my mom tinkered with guitars and he had rebuilt this thing with some shit parts which I always hated. The only thing I kept from his rebuild when I re-rebuilt it was the Leo Quan Badass bridge. It's still ahead of its time. I have no need for this guitar, but I'm keeping it for obvious sentimental reasons.

Van Halen Frankenstein: A replica of Eddie's famous red white & black guitar. I built this myself from all the exact same parts and pieces that EVH used. It took me over two years to get all the parts which included an original late 70's Floyd Rose bridge without a patent number. The paint job I put on it isn't a precise replica but it's close enough. I get a lot of compliments on it. It sometimes sounds like shit without a wet signal. For fun, I have it tuned to play Zeppelin's 'The Rain Song.' It's an ironic guitar choice to use for that

2 More Fender Stratocasters: These are stripped down and completely apart sitting in a box. I haven't decided what I want to do with them yet. I've thought about trading one off for a blonde Telecaster and putting a Humbucker in the neck of that. Dunno. They still sit.

Samick Accoustic Electric: I call this one "The Pimp" because it's loaded with pearl and inlay all over the place. Not my style, but I loved the way it played. I still didn't want it with all the shiney shit all over it and it listed for well over a thousand bucks. The price kept going down and down. The guy who owned the guitar store was a friend of mine and he wanted to get rid of it. Finally he had a blowout sale and I still didn't buy it. I told him if it survived the sale, I'd go ahead and pick it up. It didn't sell so I got it for like 200 bucks. Not bad, eh? As of now it's still my main accousitc electric and I don't care if it's blinged to hell. It plays and sounds great.

Fender Accoustic: I think this is a DG3. Not a particularly fine guitar, but certainly not a bad one either. I took it on a canoe trip and it went into the river. ****! After that I took it to my folk's house and it set in their basement for five years to dry out. I wanted a place which was relatively cool and with a constant humidity. I played hell keeping the neck from twisting, but suceeded. After those five years I strung it back up, adjusted the neck and it sounded better than before. Really. Better although I don't recommend the modification technique per se. The bridge is starting to pull I noticed the just the other day. I'm going to have to take it off and re-mount it.

Carvin Bass: This is a nice natural 4-string. I've dated it to 1974 based on the serial number. I don't know basses, but I do know a nice piece of guitar wood and this one is nice. Plays very well and sounds great. I'm not an ultra fine bass player but I can hold down the bottom end if needed. It's a good way to pick up extra gigs if there's no one needs a guitar player. I wouldn't want to play bass full time though unless a bikini super model begged me to and offered to marry me if I did. That hasn't happened yet.
