Some people are as daft as can be. The reason there is a tribunal is to find out IF he said these things. IF he has said exactly what Des has said, then he should be punished, and the Eagles should not be tarnished because of the acts of one player. IF he hasnt said what Des has blatantly 'accused' him of in the public forum, I hope they increase Des's penalty (I know they won't) and I hope Selwood sues both the media and Des Snr for all they are worth for defamation.

In my opinion, Selwood has said something that may or may not have been inappropriate, but not what Headland has accused. In my honest opinion, Selwood's remark will be found to be mild compared to what he has been assassinated over.

I think a good indication of how strongly he feels over it is displayed by his willingness to fly to melbourne to defend himself. If Des was serious, he is suspended anyway, fly to melbourne and confront him about it. I think Des has cried wolf and it will bite him in the ass.

Again though ^ they are my THOUGHTS. I'm sick of people passing off accusations as fact.

The difference is Fremantle are playing in Melbourne this weekend while West Coast are playing at home. If (that is a huge IF) Headland was to get off based on the findings of tonights tribunal he would have to fly back to Perth tomorrow and then return the next day to Melbourne. The same is with Josh Carr.

Not suspending Dessy will just set a prescedent that if someone says something you don't like, you can whack them a couple of times in the head, and then threaten to kill them. The AFL are not piss poor enough to let Dessy get away with his actions, and rightfully so. I hope he gets 6... Selwood is really irrelevant weather he gets a fine or 5 weeks, its irrelevant to the fremantle football club. We should be more worried about not going 0-4.

The dockers of nine in a row last year, played fair, but ruthless footy. And I loved it. They now play neither fair or ruthless, and are not tough either. They have done it before though and can do it again. Smash the demons this week, and get some momentum and do it again the following weeks. Then people will know and fear the old heave ho!

Anyway, with tonight, we're not going to get a result that pleases everyone. Selwood will say that Des misheard him, and with no real witnesses there is no way to prove if that it true or not.

What I hope happens:
Selwood says that Des misheard him, but apologises for the reaction it caused
Des gets his suspension dropped by a few weeks to 2-3
Selwood gets a $5000 fine
Des and Selwood talk it over and sort everything out between them

Yes mate they did vouch for seaby, we were able to follow the unwritten rule of not dobbing opposition players in but i guess the eagles dont think the same way well at least chick doesnt anyway.

Selwood will get off at the tribunal unless there is a camera on that area, whcih we wouldnt know of until after the hearing, due to the rules in place to prevent media from reporting on it until after the process is completed. We will no doubt find out tonight if there was any footage. Same goes with Carr.

Headland has bought the game into more disrepute than Selwood by reacting the way he did. If he thought Selwood really meant what he said, I'll go he.

Sledging has been around for ever and there's been plenty of things said on the footy field that are as bad if not worse than that, yet the reaction of the player has been to give it back in kind and get on with the game. Headland for a start should never have squealed on Selwood.... you have to expect some kind of comment when you have a ridiculous tattoo of your daughter on your arm, especially when in the heat of the game.

The whole case pretty much reflects that Headland is a Headcase.

However, worst case is that Des gets an extra week - neither here nor there when you're talking either 5 or 6 weeks in reality. Any improvement on the 5 weeks is just bonus really.

Couldn't care less what happens to Selwood - whether they fine him or suspend him or whatever. He said something untoward - whatever that was may never be established, but he's in a no-win. He'll be sledged for being a kiddy-fiddler, and if he dobs, then he - and his club after Chick's effort - will be known as sooks and dobbers too.
