Don't know.At this point we might as well appoint Humphrey B Bear as the message whatever that is isn't getting through.Do we keep dimma and knowing that the situation is untenable but with one eye on the draft or do we sack him and have a newish voice and win a few meaningless games.Thats the question.

Collingwood may be looking for a coach as well. They need to see what they're going to do. The side is nowhere near a total write off as has been in the case in the past.

We've passed Freo though

He's had 6 years, 3 of which we've made finals.... more than anyone in my lifetime.... All in crappy draft years, with crap recruiters and some pretty dodgy recycled player choices (which he has to take some of the blame for)....

Playing the kids is the best thing we can do.... get a decent draft pick, trade in a gun and maybe see what we can get for a TV or someone. It can turn quickly but not by playing Morris, Hunt, Chaplin, A.Edwards, Hampson, Miller, Gordon, Thomas etc....

We have made finals, we have not been good enough. List needs to be stripped back a bit and built on.... get games into the younger guys with talent and then rise again... Do need to build depth. Our best team is almost top 4 but 2-3 out of it and we fall away very quickly...

That shot of Benny on his phone in the final minutes of the game with an "Oh my God, what have we done" look suggests to me that the main topics of Board conversation will be how do we manage Dimma's dismissal and how do we choose his replacement. The gap in preseason expectations of a top four finish to this debacle is too great to ignore. The modern Richmond way is to act in a measured way, even when we are falling off a cliff, and that's good. Coaching in the modern game is also becoming the province of people with real life coaching experience at successful clubs coupled with intensive training leading to the Certificate 4 award. I hope the Board doesn't also overlook the role that poor recruiting has played in getting us to this position. No doubt our new coach will insist on more hands on input here, if not better judgement than that shown to date.

It has me stuffed how sides cut through our defense so easily and look to have options everywhere in their forward line. On the flip side we get stuck in our backline and stagger and look slow. Targets being consistently missed , bad decision making...... just so much wrong at the moment. Flip it any way you want but this season is cooked. It just looks like the game has gone past us as it is now a fast high scoring game that sides are playing. Everything we don't do.

Anyway, Lade is thought of as having a great football brain. IF Dimma was sacked, would people be happy with him as an interim/prospective coach?

God no. Lade is a huge part of the problem. A bum chum with Dimma (notice all our assistants bar Rutten, have either played with or coached by/with Dimma prior to him coming to Richmond) and every line he has coached has gone backwards under him.

Well the only solution imo is for Peggy and Benny to do a complete audit on the club, coaches, recruiters, assistants, the lot. I think the players should be left out of it atm.
This is where you earn your money Peggy otherwise we might as well have Clive Palmer as president lmao. Then when we get all that sorted the new coach and assistants can deal with the playing group, and start working towards a premiership. I no longer think Dimma can take us anywhere now and defending him is like flogging a dead horse.

Hey Everyone first post for me, I have been a member for 30 years and I am one of the many people who thought that DH should earn his next contract by making finals this year and winning one before we extend,will be there Sunday night but patience is certainly wearing thin with DH.

Yep. Cotch does too. All the best coaches and captains are A***Holes eg- Voss, Selwood, Hodge, Malthouse, Lyons. The only exception is Buckley, Shit coach but what an A***Hole

And seriously we should be looking at Brett Ratten. He had the Blues winning finals (remember '13) then they had him sacked when he did great with the list they had. He's been working lately for none other that A.Clarkson. We should throw our warchest at him! He couldn't be worse than Dimma.

Most unbalanced list in the comp and hard to fix.

A coach who believes Eddie and prefers them wouldn't be a coach you'd want anyway. We have the best KPD in the comp, a top 3-5 KPF a good Forward/Ruck and three absolute game breakers in Cotch, Lids and Dusty. Plus some handy side pieces like Yarran, Houli, CEllis, BEllis, Vlastuin, Miles ect...

Collingwood have Pendles and treloar plus a broken Cloke and Reid plus Moore who has potential. Probably have as many handy side pieces as is with Sidebottom, Elliot, De goey, Grundy etc...

I think this is a great opportunity.

We stick with Hardwick, have full eye on the draft, and make sure the idiots have little say in who we draft!!!

Oiur list needs to be improved dramatically and this is a great opportunity for good draft picks under Hardwick
