Hello there Dockers fans,

Just wondering if anyone else thought that Harris from the Roos might be worth looking at for the PSD. A 27 y/o 149 game in and under midfielder might be just the thing for our excellent ruck and fleet footed outside players to get more of the contested ball.

I would hate to see the main man Mr Palmer getting smashed in the tight contests when he is just coming back from a knee reco. It would certainly add to our midfield depth.

:rolleyes:Thoughts anyone?

I remember a time when Harris would carve us up every time we played the Roos. I reckon he'd most definitely be worth a look, but if Harvey, Bond & co stick to their policy of only one year contracts for players aged over 27, then it's highly unlikely he'd come to us without more job security (ie at least a 2 year contract).

No.

Harris was struggling to get a game at North over the past couple of seasons, and their midfield is arguably the worst in the AFL. Although admittedly, it's starting to look a bit better now.

With Palmer, Hasleby, Crowley and DeBoer, I struggle to see how Harris would get a game. Especially as those four players all have extra strings to their game (going forward, tagging, etc....) which Harris doesn't have.

We don't need an average, one dimensional, 27 year old fringe player.

id have him, but i wouldnt pick him up at 3 in the PDS, would have to be 18, as i firmly believe that if macdonald is available, then we MUST get him

Always thought he gave his all and when he was on the outs at North 2 years ago I thought he would be worth looking it, he is too old now, I wouldn't be taking him.

Though wouldn't tear up my membership if we did.

You guys are developing a good list of young blokes and have good prospects in the middle. You are a bit short on KPP and Harris wont help that. He is a good in and under player but way too slow for the number of games you have on Subiaco. Besides, Hasleby is one of the best in getting to the bottom of packs and clearing through handball. Sandilands also ensures that the ball doesn't just drop into a pack so you have an advantage in that area. I also reckon, Suban will be good in ths situation.

mcdonald or smith look the only likely PSD picks at the moment.Would love Bradshaw or Ball but not likely to happen

Fully agree KPR,McDonald is the first priority. Harris might offer us some depth in the next round. Just a thought. Getting both would be excellent!:thumbsu:

Yeah, I remember him tearing us a new one, but that was a while ago. He's not a priority position player for us, so I wouldn't think so...

From my memory he is a gun inside midfielder with exceptional hands. Granted I didn't see him play this year but jeez a year back I thought his inside hands were up with Mitchell and Kerr. Love to pick him up. Think he's great, but as with a previous post if we've got the choice with him and Mcdonald its gotta be McDonald.

I agree that we need to stay the course. Don't pick any players over 25. In the PSD we should be looking in this order. MacDonald, Ball, Smith......Bradshaw...........................................Harris

With the changes to the rookie list requirements I would think we might put someone like Harris or Coughlan on there?

If anything they are a security blanket in case we have injuries in the midfield.

Perhaps if you lost Hasleby then maybe you would consider it but not now. He even admitted himself that he didn't make the most of his oppurtunities in 08/09. He is an absolute champion bloke and gave a memorable speech at our b&f a while ago, so his attitude or integrity cannot be questioned..... sadly though IMO his playing days are over. He looked slow and a bit lazy at times over the last few years and when we played brissy mid way through the year he was on Rich for a while there and got absolutely torn to shreds, admittedly so did young Ziebell but someone of Harros experience should have been able to shut Daniel out! It was then evident that his playing days with the NMFC were over!
In saying all that i hope he does get another chance and hopefully it was just that he was very stale and needed a fresh start :)
