cypher said:Later in the year he might get a game when he's still fresh and the opposition's key forwards are buggered. He's already bulked up to 90kgs so he's going to an imposing figure when he reaches his ideal playing weight.
Have you seen him play grugman?

I saw Adam several times last year. Has the ability to take a great mark and is a deadly kick at goal. Has great potential and could make it by the end of the year. Kicked 7 goals in a half in the under 19s finals last year.gandaal said:A 190+ player who can kick it a long long way has a better chance than most of making it but I don't really expect to see him until mid next year at the earliest.
I'm not so sure. I think he is a chance to play a few games, maybe 6, by the end of the season. I've seen him at training and while a spot in the Blues forward line would be very difficult given the players you have available I think he could be given a run as a defender.TheSheik said:No, it will be extremely unlikely that he will play senior footy in 2005. From 2006 onwards he will be eased into it.
It's a valid point but he is big enough to handle it and if he is in form then you might as well play him albeit late in the season.gandaal said:Maybe I should put it another way. He might have the talent to play a few games this year, but we don't really need him to play this year. It would probably be better for Hartlett and Carlton in the long term for him to play a full season in the VFL and then get another pre-season in the under his belt before we give him a go in the seniors.

He's played primarily as a defender although he has gone forward on occasions with spectacular. I think a couple of times he was moved forward after half time but still managed to kick 4 or 5 goals.celtic_pride said:It's funny I heard Carlton drafted him as a defender, but it turns out he could be a gun foward. !!!!

Ling was drafted as a Full Forward and now he is a gum midfielder.
