After losing the Prelim, and being quite salty about it for most of Grand Final week due to the circumstances, I seriously considered not watching the big game. In the end I got caught up in the Tiger-mania and caved, enjoyed it and felt happy for the club, and many of their supporters (if not all of them).

Got me thinking though, have you ever refused to watch the Grand Final for some reason? Or maybe you were away and just never caught up after you already knew the result. Perhaps other stuff got in the way?

Or is the games' biggest stage just too enticing no matter what else is going on in your life...?

If I missed the game for some reason I wouldn't go back and rewatch it once I knew the result; closest would be the highlights package the AFL puts out after the game.

I don't think I'd skip watching the GF for any particular objection; you always hope your own team gets there, but at the end of the day I'll enjoy any game so long as it's a good one, and you'd like to think the GF is going to be one of the better ones of the season. Plus the occasion generally involves a BBQ with some mates to enjoy the day.

I was lucky enough that in 08 I was away in NT working to watch the game. Slipped into a nearby pub along the highway and seen 5 minutes of the 3rd but that was it

Watch them all, in saying that did give up on the snorefests of the 2014 and 2015 GFs 10 minutes into the 3rd Qrt, went outside with a bottle of red to watch the grass grow.

That's how I feel about every Carlton game

You didn’t find it amusing watching WC make every conceivable mistake possible in 2015? Just watching Jack Darling flail was comedy gold!

I've watched the highlights package of the 2017 GF several times. The day was part of footy history and my club's history - no point pretending it never happened. It's the ups and downs that make the story of a club, a country and the world interesting.

I'm impressed that you've managed to watch highlights packages and the like of the 2017 GF.

I have never watched a replay or highlights package of the 2013 Grand Final and I suspect I never will until Fremantle win a flag.

2014 was football perfection. By 2015 I felt like this...

I suspect no one ever, hawks fans included , will watch a reply or highlights package of 2013. What an absolute uneventful snoozefest

Was working in 2006 and 2007, only saw glimpses.

Just landed from an overseas flight in 2010 and made myself stay awake and watch it.

Was flying in 2016 and missed it. Had to watch a replay later.

Nearly fell asleep during 2015.

Brett Deledio didn't watch it.

Having seen plenty of losing prelims, its always a lot harder to watch them when your team fell at the last hurdle, particularly if they lose a close one the week before. I would have been very close to not turning it on in 2016 had the Dogs just fallen short again.
