I'm a newbie to the game Hattrick and have been on the waiting list for a day. Looking at my preferences I was wondering what ICQ number meant... is that what they give you?
thanks

Are you trying to make the rest of us feel old?

ICQ is an online messenger service that was big before MSN took over. :o

Oh sorry lol
I have never heard of that before; because it's taking a long time for me to register, I thought maybe something should be filled.

i was only on for a couple of days but that was 6 months ago before the season started. last season all the bot teams were replaced by players half way through the season so if thats any indication then another 6 weeks.

How long does one expect to actually be on a waiting list for?

Exactly, I've been on the waiting list since Thursday and am wondering how much longer it will take.

I've just seen that there are 54 teams on the waiting list.

Someone on the Oceania conference has asked why there are so many people on the list so once they get a response I'll post it here.

a few of us played bots in the first round of the cup

surely there shouldnt be bots when theres such a long waiting list???

Considering Div Vi isn't that old and when it started they needed to fill 8192 spots (1024*8) I'm fairly certain there is still a lot of bots in Division 6.

I'm surprised at the list. It normally takes a week at most, although I'd have thought they'd have got them handed out before Week 1 games.

Meanwhile I drew 1-1 with the side that finished 3rd last season. Not a bad result. Top 4 is the aim this season.

Yep, there are heaps of bots. From what I can see the first 150-200 VI leagues are full of human teams (which I'm in) and the rest are either all bots or one human and seven bot team leagues.

i raced to an early 1-0 lead, half time i was 1-2 down, then conceded another goal before pulling one backm, 5 minutes from time, unfortunately that was the end of the scoring, sellout crowd of 12000 at my ground though

I was playing a Division 4 team and knew I had no chance so PIC'd. I was surprised to only lose 4-1. I played my strongest 5 trainees in the league game on Sunday so it was very much a B team as well Made a bit of money out of it and now I can focus on the league.

Yep I'm in...
Finished my licence challenge today and through that money I have been able to recruite some quality players.
First game I played on Wednesday losing 3 - 2 in a friendly. Being 3 - 0 down at half time the result was promising.
But the thing that frustrated me the most was that depsite dominating possesion wise in the first half I conceded 3 goals and scored none.

For those of you with Hattrick Supporter, just interested to see what your most official games played (League/Cup/Qualifiers) leaderboard looks like.

Just noticed one of my stalwarts played his 200th game on Wednesday and it blew me away given there are only 14 league games and x amount of cup games in a given season - and injury and suspension is usually an unwelcome fact of life in HT, not to mention training and natural improvement mean you usually shift players on in the ever-increasing bid to climb the pyramid.

1. Christopher Gas 200
2. Håkon Eriksen 177
3. Mats Hörstrand 157
4. Pauli Ahlapuro 148
5. Lyle Anderson 145
6. Clinton Charlesworth 124
7. Ireneusz Topola 117
8. Lars Nord 116
9. Magne Dahl 114
10. Tame Umbari 106
11. Thomas Nedertorp 100
12. Romeo Balitiu 92
13. Joža Groman 70
14. Ben Coulon 65
15. Kuba Lapka 64
16. Phillip Bason 61
17. Avele Walton 61
18. Jaime Novoa 58
19. William Batt 57
20. Jeffrey Fox 57

Anyone got a few guys comparable to this (realise my team is a lot older than almost of you)?

Just a little different from yours. My oldest trainees are 20 now so I'll be moving along a few of those next season but I'm considering keeping the best two for longer.

Hey guys, I just got let into the game world today & am working on my licence.

In order to organise a friendly match do I just challenge teams that are after games? I challenged 2 teams in the ad's page.

Thanks for any help - this game looks great & addictive!

Make sure you play your friendlies at home or away against a fellow Oceania team. As a new team you'll lose money playing overseas.

As you work through the licence challenges, make sure you read through the game rules and the newbie conferences. There's a lot to the game that is quite overwhelming at the start but as long as you don't make any rash decisions like upgrading your stadium and buying players until you know what you're doing you'll be fine.

One of the challenges was to make a bid for a player, so made a $2k bid for some crap keeper (who is better than mine) but his wage wasn't that high, similar to the rest of my squad so am hoping that it goes ok.

He may not even want to play for my team, but 2k is hardly going to break the bank.

Fiddled around with my starting 11 - pathetic side but every player is in a position that they are best suited for, which wasn't the case before I changed things around.

I think I will really love this game.

If a player gets 3 yellow cards are they just going to miss 1 game?
Is this the same with a straight red card?
Thanks

Results don't really matter when you first start. Just make sure you choose a training method, buy 17-19 year old players to play in that position and play them all either on the wednesday or sunday. For example if you are training playmaking, buy 6 young central midfielders and 4 wingers. Play 5 of them in your league game and the other 5 in your friendly, making sure you play either a 3-5-2 or a 4-5-1 so that all your trainees are getting trained. You'll also need to buy a passable coach with poor leadership or a solid coach with poor leadership. Once you do that you'll eventually start making money. I started in Division VI and I'm still there going into my third season.
