We invested picks into the midfield seemingly in the hope that it would compensate for a non-existent backline and limited forward line and even then our midfied has been absolutely smashed today. McKercher can get the ball but doesn't hurt the opposition. LDU makes the mistakes of an 18 year old and Comden actively hurts us down back. Larkey and Curtis have no help aside from Cam who shows up when he feels like it. Darling looks all of his 33 years.

On the day of all days to show something, we've folded like a cheap suit. Again. No response to the pressure, to the attention of the footy world or media, or to the fans. We've cultivated a culture where we are just a bunch of mates happy to be here, making money.

This legitimately feels unfixable.

What is it now, 15 of 120 games? That simply is not sustainable in a modern day professinal competiton. Even Melbourne under Neeld weren't this bad.

I feel like I'm watching the slow death of a once proud club.

Drafting guys like Duursma and McKercher over other players at strategic/positional needs like Caddy/Watson/Curtin is one thing.

But then trading your future 1st for a developmental tall who is at minimum a year away from contributing...

We’ve spent good draft capital on C grade talent from other clubs. Logue is the only recruit from another club that has made any sense vs. the capital spent and in true NMFC fashion he drove over a black cat on the way over.

Have drafted mid after mid only to be torched on the weekly because they’re all Prima Donna’s who are used to having others do the grunt work for them.
