I would prefer he went to Carlton. Better draft pick for us and even with him they are really no threat.

Although if he went to Hawthorn, St Kilda or Collingwood they would be very hard to beat.

19 will be it.
He is 29, and he is injury prone ! Plus he's a chance to go back to his bad old ways in Melbourne.
He'd be handy this week though.

This is always my favourite part of the year. When posters from other teams come here and tell us exactly what their clubs will or won't do in the draft. The best bit is when they start threatening pre-season draft and other ways we won't get anything if we don't accept their 5th rounder and a crab,

Would be very happy with pick 18 tbh.

Players who may be up for trade who I think may fit at the club include Jacobs (Carlton), Djerrkura (Geelong) and Myers (Essendon).

Jacobs gives us our ready made second ruckman, giving Clarke time to develop.

Djerrkura is ready to play midfielder/back pocket with pace and aggression.

Myers could be very useful if Mundy leaves.

Can't really say if they are great pick-ups or not, but I would like them looked at closely, and could come into play if a Tarrant trade eventuates. If we are losing mature developed footballers we need replacements now. Not necessarily like-for-like, but players who can play at AFL level.

qft.

Clearly if you think Pick 19 is acceptable then it won't be offered. All clubs try and offer something that is unacceptable such as Pick 52.

So what do the 2 clubs do they get together somewhere in between lets say pick 35.

OK he might only have one or two years left.

But I dont think anyone over east know how good Tarrant is. He's oft described as a rebounding defender, which is true.

But what people fail to mention id that he takes the no1 forward every week and usually concedes ZERO goals. Sometimes 1.

Tarrant for pick 19 sounds fair to me, a ready made AA calibre defender. Of course I'd rather not lose him but it seems that isn't going to happen now.

I've loved the way Taz has played for us but if we can't secure a good pick then let him walk into the PSD.

If like he says, he is only going back to Melbourne because his harpie of a wife is demanding it then surely he won't mind where he plays.

I'd rather not trade to make our immediate rivals for a top 4 berth in 2011 stronger, which they will through Tarrant. Send him to Essendon or Richmond.

That's too easy to respond to

Give it a go then champ ... let me guess you are going to hark back to the Scwabb/Colon-y era where we made a series of terrible trades, great stuff

i think even your average BF poster would agree that Freo's drafting and minimal trading (keps, Soloman and Mcphee all have all provided value) under Harvey has been outstanding.

That same poster would also agree that Carlton are the new trade table b**tches so anything is possible when it comes to what you might offer for Tarrant this year

Wont that give him to Gold Coast? Assuming he does want to return to melbourne and not join Solly at GC at least GC will ensure that clubs have to make a deal and can't threaten to pick him up in the draft.

I have to say I'm over Taz already. Outstanding player of course and I would be extremely happy if he wanted to find a way to enjoy his WA-based footy with this group. If he doesn't, there's no point pushing it. I think Robert Shaw said during commentary that he'd coached Taz as a younger player and he went through periods of not enjoying his football.

In our current group you can see they love it right now. He'd have to commit fully and we'd have to find a way to get him enjoying it. That wouldn't be possible with different messages on the home front.

Also, if as Taz has said, one of his concerns has been his ability to run out a game, and I've also heard he doesn't enjoy the rehab (especially the pool work), then he might just be recognised as lower value at other clubs. Maybe that's why retirement has been mentioned?

Apart from that, I want to see Sibo playing with McPharlap and Grover very very soon. That experience needs to be transferred urgently.

Freo haven't made any big trades recently so no I can't really bring up anything recent.. I would hardly call drafting Kepler, McPhee and Solomon at the end of drafts outstanding because no other clubs were interested in them.. Your 2008 and 2009 drafting was the best of any club. Hill, Walters, Broughton, Morrabito, Fyfe, Barlow. Trading I can't make comment on because you haven't made any trades in the last few years.

We are hardly the trade table bitches... Let's see our last few big trades

Carlton Receive
Chris Judd
Pick 47 (Dennis Armfield)
West Coast receive
Pick 3 (Chris Masten)
Pick 20 (Tony Notte)
Josh Kennedy Easy carlton win there

Carlton Receive
Brock Mclean
Melbourne Receive
Pick 11 (Jordan Gysberts) Looks like a bad trade for us so far, so melbourne win that one so far although I don't rate Gysberts that much

Carlton Receive
Lachie Henderson
Pick 12(Kane Lucas)
Brisbane Receive
Brendan Fevola
Pick 27(Callum Bartlett) Fev has been sacked today so easy Carlton win

I could also throw in the Warnock for Suban trade.. Last year Freo fans were laughing at Carlton.. I think that has quitened up a bit

Just quietly I'd like to throw in that I actually have a soft spot for your team

Lets just get him a new wife
