good chance tomorrow to break our hawthorn hoodoo...

no buddy, no gibson
mitchell off his game
lewis will still be seeing stars
hawthorn only going in with the 1 'ruck' (if you can call him that)
shaw and johnson coming in
obree out (can only be a positive)

both tams coming off losses
hawks get a shorter break, and played a tough game last week...
MM controversy during the week a factor?

im tipping the pies this week, and with a bit of confidence too...

I tipped Hawks you can all laugh at me. But the way Pies have been playing lately is far from their best, so unless they really switch on across the board I can't see them beating Hawks.

I can never be too confident playing hawthorn. but for some reason when we are under scrutiny from the media we always to come out firing the next week. I tipped the pies but i know this is going to be tough for us. we need travis firing, who will go on him?

I don't know if I would say that Mitchell is off his game.

I've tipped the pies. If there was a time we would win it would be now. Both teams are coming off tough contests but we have injury and suspension in our favour.

We really need to crack this one to prove we can beat a few decent teams in a string of tough games. It's our trial finals in a way.:)

Luke Ball and Darren Jolly's week to shine here.

When they both arrived at the club, I looked to round 4 and said, here we go, finally we can compete with the Hawks where we have been smashed by them in the past, the middle of the ground.

No Sewell and a groggy or missing Lewis also helps, but Ball can just play head to head on Mitchell, and Jolly should get on top gradually as the game goes on.

Buddy out obviously helps too, as it allows Presti to worry about one opponent all night, and that is obviously Roughead.

The "curse" will end tomorrow night, Anthony Rocca doing his lap of honour is a sign, as if I am not wrong, the last time we beat the shit and piss (brown and gold) was when Rocca embarassed Dawson at the Dome.

The players will also get behind Mick this week, unlike some supporters, most of the players love him and will be disgusted at the way he was treated this week by the media and other teams presidents/coaches/players etc.

Pies by plenty, time to break the noose that is the Hawthorn Football Club.

but Ball can just play head to head on Mitchell

Don't know if this is a good idea, hopefully they cancel each out around the stoppages but if Ball runs round the ground with him then I think Mitchell will tear us apart.
Hopefully we can win the clearance battle, should get first use through Jolly and really hoping Ball can stop Mitchell getting 10+ clearances like he usually does.

It's games like this, where we should win due to the Dawks decimated team, that we either just scrape over the line, or lose. If our guys are switched on from the beginning, expect us to win by about 90. If they're not, Then the Dawks by 45. Hopefully the players don't know that they "should" win. If they believe that they are the underdogs throughout the game, then we win.

I think you guys have to win tonight otherwise it would be hard to see you doing anything at the business end of the year. Everything is in your favour, an 8 day break compared to 6, scrutinised by the media and you are pretty much full strength. The hawks have some massive outs, including Franklin who always plays well against you guys.
Others include two of our premium midfielders
Sewell
Junior Burger
Our full back
Gibson
Rucks
Taylor/Bailey
To a lesser extent Shiels who will be a very good player and has been playing as our number 1 tagger.

I think our depth is better this year though and we have some handy inclusions in Young and Osbourne. Much will depend on how your recruits Jolly and Ball play. Jolly has played well against Renouf and the hawks in the past and is due to turn his form around.

Going to be a great close game.

I tipped them too as we have no idea to break there zone

That will be the Key "Clearnces" if we wing there we should win

We will win imo, Hawks have 10 players on their injury list most would be in their 22.

We as a club have our backs against the wall and will have the underdog mentality which MM thrives on to get the players "up".

It will however be a false dawn of where the 2 teams teams are at.

pies by 24.

Why are we Underdogs? In the Betting we are Hot Favourites

He wasn't referring to TAB odds Dave.
The Club has been battered from pillar to post this week , hence the underdog mentality. I am bloody confident, Pies by 40.

Not that i think we are underdogs everything is in our favour and if we don't win there is something seriously wrong at this club.

We might Struggle with there Zone Again
