So everyone else picked Hawthorn when they were 5yrs old because they liked the emblem too?
Not quite true.
Their premierships are the result of an outdated zoning system and an outdated priority pick system which they abused by tanking.
Under any equal system they have failed miserably. 0 real premierships.

Yep, the colours were part of the greatest emblem in football.not the colours?
Ah yeah. We didn't cheat by tanking for priority picks, nor were we given unfair access to zones for 20 odd years. So if 2008 was an outdated system. I assume that 2009 is the the only year that counts as an equal system.
Essendon 0 real premierships.
Or were things so much fairer back 1897 ?
do you not think it worked out OK for Hawthorn and their two priority picks.
Brilliant.
Frankston was a part of Hawthorn's zoning. Kelvin Moore, Leigh Matthews and Dermot Brereton are the most well known VFL/AFL footballers to go to Hawthorn via the Frankston zone.
2004: Roughead pick 2, Franklin pick 5Quoted for correction. As a saints supporter, at least get the facts correct. The Hawks earnt 1 priority pick and never finished last. The other was a result of a trade. But judging by the last trade period, your club doesn't appear to understand the mechanics of that concept.
And yet you roll this dribble out as if it's supposed to be denegrating. I ask once more, how many priority/early picks did the Saints earn? What has come of them?
What does 2006 prove for Geelong then?
2004: Roughead pick 2, Franklin pick 5
2005: Ellis pick 3, Dowler pick 6
Which picks did you trade for there?
I just won the argument, using your very own angle.

you idiot, how do you correct a fact?
St Kilda have the same amount of priority picks as Hawthorn, 2
Buddy & Ellis = 2, which one did you trade for? The one you earned for 4 wins or the one you earned for 5?
Ball & Riewoldt = 2
I'll await an apology.
and that's your comeback on the "country" zone rort? nice one![]()
The point stands champ. What have you done with them, other than losing one of them?
Yep, the colours were part of the greatest emblem in football.

Man or mouse?
I'll take that as an apology then.
as for us and our relevance to your rorted zone picks, I see none, but for your amusement, we have done nothing, as I mentioned earlier I don't believe Hawthorn winning with 2 priority picks is worth an asterix either, you have 2 well earned non asterixed Premierships![]()
Falchoon, the only saving grace for you is that you have Liverpool listed. So on that basis I will say sorry. I was wrong.
![]()
But your zone stuff is still garbage nonetheless. Premierships are won with more than a handful of players. No zone ever won a premiership for any team, especially over such a length of time. Or priority selections more recently, as you'd agree.
I don't know why you are complaining after all of the stars we gave you like Russo, The Fly, Wittman, Ralphsmith the list goes on![]()
OP seems to have the same brain capacity as a non convicted killer.
All this shit about our zones gifting us flags is a croc.
Consider this:
Gary Dempsey was drafted from Hastings.
Stewart Loewe was drafted from Mt Eliza.
John Coleman was drafted from Hastings.
Robert Harvey was drafted from Seaford.
Nathan Burke was drafted from Pines.
Russell Greene was drafted from Frankston (by St. Kilda)
Stuart Trott, former Saints captain, was drafted from the MPNFL
Gary Colling was drafted from Frankston.
Travis Payze, 1966 Premiership player, was drafted from Frankston
Stan Alves was drafted from Edi-Asp.
Ian Bremner, Hawthorn Premiership player, played 1 game for Collingwood before playing for Hawthorn. He was drafted from Pearcedale.
Robert Elphingstone was drafted from Seaford.
Barry Goodingham was drafted from Edi Asp.
Gerard Healy was drafted from Edi-Asp.
Greg Healy was drafted from Edi-Asp.
Greg Hutchison was drafted from Rosebud.
Alan Mannix was drafted by Footscray from Crib Point.
Ian Roberts was drafted from Rosebud.
Grant Thomas was drafted from Frankston YCW.
None of these players was drafted by Hawthorn, yet they were all drafted from the Mornington Peninsula - specifically, the MPNFL.
Myth busted.
John West
Edi - Asp was a tricky one because the metro zones were based on where you lived and the country zones on where you played, the Healy's for example grew up in Melbournes metro zone but conceivably could have chosen Hawthorn as well.
Loewe was one Hawthorn threw back, couldn't even make the grade with the depth Hawthorn had and Burke and Harvey are too young, country zoning had been abolished.
Country zoning was brought in in '68 so the likes of Dempsey, Alves, Payze, Trott and Coleman were already playing.
Nice try though - actually no it's not, what you have highlighted is the depth of talent on the Peninsula and Melbournes southern bayside suburbs.
