Yeah, nothing can compare but every season since WILL be compared. I didn't enjoy Season 3 as much as a lot of people seemed to, so it's felt like a series of diminishing returns.

Yeah S1 is untouchable.
Interesting to hear you thought S2 and S3 were at roughly same level though, I thought general consensus was that S2 was unmitigated trash while S3 was good not great.
Just the inconsistency between Eps. Some great, others not so in S03
Anyway wats the date for this new one?

Yep.
I think they were trying their best not to just repeat themselves with season 2, but it just felt so far removed from what made season 1 great, that it disappointed a lot of people. That being said, it simply wasn't nearly as good and even if season 1 didn't exist for it to be compared to, wouldn't have been particularly popular. The writing was pretty poor and some of the acting was laughably bad.
Season 3 tried to go back to what had appealed to everyone about the original, but never quite captured it.

I dont think it will be great but ive convinced myself we will see Rust again so im hyped for that.
I'll add to this, Vince Vaughn was great in season two.
Now this is bizarro world, the show turned that bloke into a meme for a year or so.
Not that it was his fault really, some of the dialogue they had him spouting, whoa boy
Never seen the memes and I watched s2 ages ago but what I remember I thought he was really good.
