Yeah, watched that episode last night. Wonder if they had to do any retakes of it (being a 7 minute continuous shot or however long it was). Wouldn't want to be an extra in the background and make a mistake during the last minute.

I remember hearing that it didn't take that many attempts to get right:

If the whole thing wasn't working I knew I had to abort it really quickly, and so we only got through seven takes. The first three takes were aborted and that was disheartening but finally, on the fourth, we went all the way through and pretty much almost everything landed.

Yep, pan up to the the sky/helicopter. From what I read it was blocked like that in case they needed the cut, but ended up getting it in 1. Insane.

First ep pretty good. Bit of a season 1 feel so far.

It’s a slow burn, much more like the first season in feel, but different enough.

It feels very tightly written and the acting is brilliant.

Has me in so far.

Very much following the structure of season 1. Even had a little reference to season 1 with the crooked spiral.

The.case is interesting and the acting directing also good even if not at Fukunagas level.

Only thing really lacking compared to s1 is a character as intruiging as Rustin Cohle but he was 1 in a million.

I also hope they given Stephen Dorffs character a bit more to do.

Loved the first 2 eps of season 3. When in doubt, go back to basics. Although, I'm hoping it doesn't follow season 1 too much.

A bit hard to tell where it's all going to lead. I mean, a few things are obvious, but it's so early that they may simply be mid-season red herrings.

Great first two eps, sucked me all the way in.

Anywho, Scoot McNairy was great in Halt and Catch Fire and he is excelling here

He will blitz the next season of Narcos

Saw the first two episodes last Monday and yes it has that feel, that menace and unexplained fear, but , it has to keep that moving, I think no.1 was a phenomenon unequaled time will only tell if no.3 can stand up to it, but it looks better than the mash of no.2, which was a good show but lost all the dark underside of psychological fear, that no.1 gave from the moment that local cop asked "have you ever seen anything like this" that song that tree, shit it still creeps me out.
