This was a blatant hit to the front of the head with the back, whereas Goodes' bump was aimed at Selwood's shoulder and then slid further down on to the neck/head area. Goodes also hit Selwood with his bum, not his back, a significant difference between the magnitude of hardness/softness.

The effect of the hit was vastly different as well, with Selwood getting back up not too worse for wear, but Lachlan staying down for a significant amount of time.

Johnno is an out and out ball player, and he got 5 weeks.
Goodes has a lot more to do with the MRP and he gets nothing.

Its just what I extrapolated from the tribunal rulings and saw footage of. Front on contact is always going to be deemed more extreme than side on contact, and its part of the justification, I guess, but doesn't justify it.

I'm not saying one was worse than the other, just trying to find justification in it, so if it came across as that, it wasn't my intent

Absolutely agree, no discipline whatsoever and costs us every time he plays.
Didn't he want to be a policeman when he retires? Fat chance of that happening given his record and inability to control himself.
