Top effort mate,Eagles may go Rohan and Colyer with there first 2 picks.Would not be surpised if they went Jetta/Black combo either with there first 2 picks.

After the Yarran stuff up, it'd be the last straw?
Yarran was no stuff up. Immense potential and in the top few skill wise.

I'm not sure who we'll take with our first pick. Plenty of good players there to choose from. I'm starting to like the look of Luke Tapscott tho'

i like how u have us picking martin as opposed to many others who have us getting butcher or morabito.

however, i think with the 2nd pick we wouldn't be going fitzpatrick if griffiths is still on the board. apparently we're very very keen on ben.

Pick 15 - Bulldogs - Matthew Panos
The doggies have been crying out for a true KPF for their young midfield to kick to and their prayers have been answered. Panos could very likely become the best forward from this draft. If Panos isn't available, the bulldogs will go best available KPF.

Pick 31 - Bulldogs - Chris Luff
Dogs take the best available KPP. Together with Panos, the have started to solve their key position woes.

I'm sorry but I don't agree with this especially with the draft being so thin on talls. If Panos, Talia and maybe Black were available i'd get one of them in the first round but that's it. We have 5 promising talls in Boumann, Cordy, Everitt, Grant and Jones developing atm plus a couple who are long shots.

In a couple years time we will be like West Coast in that they drafted too many talls and not enough mids. Soon we will be the land of the giants.

I wonder if Lewis Jetta is the type who would get homesick and return home in a few years?

Jets is a VERY family oriented boy. The Jettas are a huge mob down bunbury way and scattered really all over the southern WA and theres a contingent in Geraldton/Kalgoorlie (whom he has little to do with). In saying that however, I'm under the impression (he doesnt tell me much even if i buy him his subway for the week) that any club thats spoken to him (all 16 now) are really compassionate about aboriginal family structures and how they are lenient in giving them time to adapt and be patient and not over awe them with the giant city straight away etc (like carlton with yarran).

Any club that snaps him will have a MAJOR star on their hands, but it wont be a instant success a la rich/selwood. He just loves playing footy, wouldnt care if it was for Brisbane Lions or Carey Park reserves.

On another note. Awesome mock draft mate! enjoyed all the dockers picks and also enjoyed that you didnt go for sculley at one!:thumbsu:

I think you will find our list is well balanced. We have quality all over the ground and with our recent list assessment we are struggling to fit in all our mids. We are basically short 1 Quality KPP(A full forward, although we are chock full of depth KPP players like Wilson and Wilkes) and a genuine Crumber.

I can see us taking a mid as our 1st pick as stated, and probably a quality KPP with our lowest 2nd round pick. I do expect us to get at least 1 more 2nd round pick through trade to take a crumber with though.

Will be a lot easier to do a phantom post trade week when we can see full picks available and squad deficiencies.

All from interstate though. I guess it doesn't matter with A Chee. It is not as if he can request a trade home;)

Drafted three Victorians in the 08 draft. Only way this draft could improve would be to take Barlett with a late third round pick.

Are you going to lose your two best midfielders any time soon?

21 - Kangaroos - Mark Hutchings
A player who very much typifies the 'shinboner spirit', the Kangaroos grab a medium defender.

Medium defender eh?

You lost me right here, didnt bother reading the rest.

Try pure ball winner.

Sure, but as I said in the OP, I don't watch any of these kids, all my information is from off the net.

Black is a mature-aged (19 years old) key forward at 193 cm, and thus didn't play in the Under-18 championships. He played senior WAFL footy towards the end of the year after some good form in the colts kicking some big bags at full forward (including one of 8). His WAFL form was fairly poor goals wise (only 1 goal from 3 games) but from the stats given he played a good game in the last round of the season as a ruckman (12 kicks, 14 handballs, 7 marks and 13 hitouts). Not very much info on him at this stage, although he has been invited to the draft camp, but from all reports he's a very good mark and kick at goal. I guess we'll find out about his athleticism after draft camp.

A very atlhletic footballer with a slim build. He has amazing upside IMO and has a great desire for the contest, this being very evident by his tackling ability.

We cant just keep drafting KPP's then we will be known as the tallest team! But maybe this year is a good year because we have Libba and Wallis next year!
