Hello to my fellow Magpie faithful.

I am a Collingwood supporter, and me and a mate who is a Hawthorn supporter are thinking about going to the game friday night between the Pies and the Hawks at the MCG.

We will have no trouble getting there, however both of us haven't been to the football for so long we're not sure exactly what tickets we need.

Obviously we are not members of any sort, and we just want basic tickets (I dont know how else to describe it).

We have had a look at the AFL site here: http://afl.com.au/default.asp?pg=matchdetails&spg=display&articleid=281835 regarding the tickets but just need some guidance. Could we buy the tickets when we get to the ground or do we have to get them earlier?

Now if we could get some help it would be much appreciated. Please help us get to the game. Go Pies! Thanks in advance.

Won't be a huge crowd at all, so no troubles what-so-ever getting your tickets at the ground. All you need is standard General Admittion, which should let you in M1-M9 (Level 1 on GSS), or most of L4, of any stand (GSS, Punt Rd End is all Gen Admin before AFL Res, Olympic Stand L4 is pretty much all L4 i am pretty sure, as is most of the Collingwood Stand (Ponsford).

Hope that is a good guide, but as a Season Ticket Holder, I like to check Level 1 GA, and M1-M9 is the place to be...

See you all in the members area... i left last week a happy happy person.. i hope it will be the same start to the weekend tomorrow night :D GO THE PIES!!!

thanks Lonie_from_50 and Murray, it is very helpful! Just one little thing more - general admission is the same thing as public reserve isn't it?

We got there a bit late and the only seats we could get into were all Level 4, but that was fine, just happy to be there!

How early do you have to get to the ground to get Level 1 or Level 2 seats, or do you have to reserve them or something?

Got in at 6:40 and found a seat 10 odd rows back on level 1...good to have with a season ticket and limited income.
Got there at 7:20, found a seat on the wing, first level and below channel 9's box and the coaches. Great to have MCC membership.
