Gotta remember, these players have had their heads filled with " you have done nothing wrong " for 3 years so it's forgone conclusion that they believe it.
Brainwashed is the term they call it.
It is embarrassing. Truly, truly embarrassing.

The problem is, no-one in the AFL media has ever asked them the hard questions. They are babied and mollycoddled beyond belief. A bunch of sycophantic morons that call themselves journalists. If the players are so confident they have done nothing wrong, perhaps they can go before a journalist that will give them a grilling instead of just calling them all brave. It's pathetic.
absolutely, dumbo says i took nothing wrong, the moron couldn't even ask - well what did you take?

Think it's inappropriate he is on afl360. I certainly will be turning it off on days he is on.

Robbo is still carrying on about asada. Robbo, when u don't check the rules you have no one else to blame. If you give ur responsibility to someone else, you can't say it's someone else's fault. Otherwise whole anti doping thing doesn't work. Everyone would have a scapegoat.

I have changed my mind. I like him as he is angry at club. Finally admissions to the obvious. And that system isn't the problem.

You admit the obvious and work forgives you. Be a dick and deny the obvious, mob will get you.

So Heppel reckons he did nothing wrong because the club assured him that what he was getting injected with (unknown substances) were legal.

I still don't think the banned players understand the WADA system as well as they should.

He should be (and is) angry at the club, but he should also be fuming about no-one in the club asking the obvious questions ... none of the senior players, none of the support staff, none of the medical team ... and of course the one thing that he appears that he will never understand - self-responsibility.

Was he saying he shouldn't have been banned?

I'll say it again

If Hird and his bunch of cronies had said yup we tried to cheat and we were stupid

Then this would have been over two years ago

Heppell is a fool ......living in denial street is futile

Spin doctors like Heppell are sent to the media ....to try and sell a message the public isn't going to swallow

Good on him for saying he is angry with the club. He's got every right to be.

Should be even angrier with himself for being totally complicit with the actions of the club. When you don't ask any questions, when you deliberately hide your actions from the club doctor, when you hide what you're taking from ASADA, and yet still continue to allow yourself to be used as a human pincushion, you loose every right to be angry with those that you are complicit with. Of course, you can be delusional about all this, and pretend you've never been told you're completely and utterly responsible for anything that goes into your body, but you'll just come out looking like either an idiot, or a cheat.

I like how there had to be a question in there about Hird.

The most pressing question is not something like "Are we really to believe it was an almighty coincidence that no player disclosed the proper information to the doping officers when doing their drug tests, or was it a team wide directive?"

No it's more like "So are you and Hird still go bowling this weekend?"

Of course, if he's confident they took nothing inappropriate, what is there to be upset with the club about? Cognitive dissonance much?

like many in this thread, you've ignored what Heppell said

Heppell said he had no problem with the legal process & he never said he didn't take banned substances & shouldn't have been suspended.

His issue is with the club's organization of the supplements plan, which both worksafe & the AFL tribunal penalized essendon for. 4 corners went into last night.

fact is, no one has been able to give a "yes" or "no" to whether players took banned substances, hence the legal battles over the last few years.

CAS was comfortably satisfied they did, but that's different to saying they definitely did. Heppell clearly stated he ain't questioning this.

Well why the hell is he appealing against the CAS decision?
