Apologies to Andrew Hill, Stuart Mangin, Nick Hider, Paul Tuddenham, Robert Pyman, Brad Plain, Tyson Lane, Jason Taylor, Brad Rowe, Ben Wilson, and Mark Orchard. It is a really hard side to break into.

No excuse for sloppy spelling of names.

Ah Geeze:o

what a bunch of great players we recruited over teh last 20 or so years.

I think every one of our backman had at least 6 kicked on them in a game, Godden had 9 kicked on him in a half against carlton:(.

Sad part of our history

Godden was stiff to miss captaincy!

I thought Butcher, Houlihan, Tranquilli and Athas were going to be good players though. Those players did contribute to some good wins in their time at the club.

Butcher did have a purple patch there at one point, looked like he would cement a long term spot in our backline.

Kent Butcher is clearly the greatest name of all time, add Jon Ballyntine to the list and for the sake of everyone add Mark Richardson to the emergency list. Would like to see if he had more games as an emergency than he actually played

Clement and Brodie on the Freo list... Taz still with us... and he had THREE FREE KICKS!! lol no goals though!

30ish tackles

monkey... oh how we could do with his ruckwork now... 34 hitouts... seems unheard of currently!

Tarks had a quiet game... only 7 disposals but then again so did Buckley by his standards... only 26 possessions!

Ah I love reading old random games like that!

I count 11 out of our 22 who were/are good-to-excellent at some stage of their careers - this includes the likes of Schauble who was ordinary for us but won a B&F with Sydney. Makes you wonder why we were quite that bad that year. I do seem to recall we had some pretty narrow losses though.

Richardson was actually ok for a couple of seasons especially one at CHB, he actually beat Carey one day. McKee was also ok. Putting Lane into calculations is a bit harsh.

Spot on! Richardson, in particular, was excellent at stages. If he hadn't been so injury-prone through 2002-03, he might have made the necessary difference. In 1999, he played an absolute corker of a game against the other M. Richardson when we knocked over Richmond against the odds.

I was there that day with my oldman, bitterly cold only like 9 degree or somethign crazy adn was hailing and raining all day.

King was every where, presti was playign as a rebounding CHB and that win was one of the greatest feeling of my life.

I also had a cold for the next week, and dad wouldnt let me have a day off cause i wanted to go to the football rofl

You coulod almost get a reserves side up as well. Names like Guy Richards, David Fanning, Julian Rowe, Mark McGough, Richard Cole...............this list is endless!

How could I have forgotten Rowe?

He is an automatic selection!

Percentage in the mid 80s and a biggest loss of 57 points - probably one of the better wooden spoon sides there has been.
