Hewitt into US Open Final

Lleyton has just crushed Kafelnikov 6-1, 6-2, 6-1 to go into the Final.

It was a fantastic performance - ties the best ever win in a semifinal in US Open history.

Again, he was very gracious in his interview on court right after the match.

He just might be winning over the New York crowd!

Awwwwww......... what the heck...... I hope he wins it all!

Sampras has just beaten Safin 6-3, 7-6, 6-3 to advance to the Final.


Hmmm.... Hewitt vs Sampras - who will win????

I just realised I won't be able to see the Final. I'm off to Six Flags Great America for the day to ride the coasters!

Can't understand why they hate him - that guy has so much heart it is unbelievable.

Sure he's a bit of a bogan
Sure he's from Adelaide
Sure he sometimes doesn't realise that what he says might offend ppl (ie: disabled, afro americans etc)

But, jeez, he's just a raw, non-PC kid who honestly I believes means no harm whatsoever.

Won me over with that 1st rubber in Barcelona in the Davis Cup final.

Three good reasons to hate Lleyton, but the second seems to be the strongest, especially for a Bulldogs supporter! .

Well, maybe not. Considering the Crows performance on Saturday, I guess I can show compassion and stick with Hewitt!

The guy's beginning to grow on me, I hope he wins. Both finnalists (Hewwitt & Sampras) deserve to be there and sadly one must inevitbly lose.
I got up at 5am hoping to see Lleyton on TV but his match was already over so I watched the rest of Sampras/Safin. Sampras did well. Lleytons going to have to play well (not that he isn't already) cos Pete has form and an NY crowd.

LOL Sounds like me having to get up at 4.30am to listen to the Doggies matches on the net when they played an evening match! Those day matches with a 11.10pm start over here were much more appreciated!

Lleyton is a legend - CONGRATULATIONS ON WINNING his first of many grand slams.

He was so fired up after the CROWS insipid performance against carlton - there was no way he was going to lose.

A champion CROWS SUPPORTING South Aussie!!!!!!!! - - continuing with the tennis theme lets hope the hawks knock out pap this week to make it a "straight sets" exit for the ferals.

What i couldnt believe is not that he won it, i thought he was a chance but in the way he won it. I have never seen Pistol Pete so lost on a tennis court before, he had no idea where to go, where to hit the ball, what to do next ... nothing. He was lost. Hewitt basically whipped him!!!
