I'd imagine it'd be Higgins, considering that he's definitely going to win a Brownlow according to the Bulldogs supporter sitting behind me last week.

Of course, according to him, Cooney and Griffen were both future Brownlow medallists too...

One down, only Griffen and Higgins still to go :)

I thought Higgins was just a skinny, flashy small forward who kicked the occasional goal or two. Watching him this year he is a geniune goal kicking midfielder and has the hips of a man.

Very solid and has been ultra consistent.

Higgins absolutely shits over everyone taken in the 2005 draft, save Murphy. I'd even have trouble choosing between him and Murphy if the opportunity arose.

HE racks up touches, kicks goals. Very versatile.

if he played for Collingwood he would be lauded the next Chris Judd.

I wish I'd seen this poll earlier as it looks like I'm just jumping on the bandwagon. I'd seen Higgins as a junior and he was a gun, he's been cruelled by injuries until this year and is finally showing his wares.

Beautiful footballer. Would have been nice if the Cats could've kept him down here.

Shaun Higgins i rate as a better player. Higgins is that player that can get hard earnt disposals then take a rest in the foward line and still kick 2-4 Goals. Look at his performances this year they have been great. He is a great player and so is Thomas but Higgins for me (Y).

The whole 'Thomas is soft' theory is ridiculous.

I'd ask anyone to give me an example of when he's pulled out of a contest. He NEVER does. he always pouts his body on the line.

Bulldogs Collingwood last year, jumped out of Brian Lake's way in a marking contest on the wing. Lake marked it basically un-opposed because of it.

Thomas got dragged for it and even the commentators who all love Daisy bagged him for it. It was one of the most obvious squibs I've seen

I'm sure most players throughout the duration of their career have 'squibbed' at some stage. Thomas has done it a couple of time but for the most part he puts his head over the ball.

Since labelling Thomas soft in the first page of this thread, he hasn't done all that much to change my mind.

Case in point - he tried to milk a free against the bombers on Anzac day: was more or less on his knees trying to gather the ball as it came over the boundary line, and grabbed the knees of an Essendon player as the latter approached, in an attempt to get the head-high free. The Essendon player gave him a contemptous shove. It was pretty funny.

That is soft how? I guess we'll call Selwood soft because he tries to milk some frees.

He attacks the ball hard, he doesn't back out of contests, he goes back with the flight to take marks, and he tackles extremely well. Sounds like the ingredients of someone who is soft to me too!

There's milking frees and then there's milking frees. The latter, exemplified by Thomas on the weekend, does not even consist of taking posession of the ball. Big difference.

Anyway, I know he's not soft. I was just lowering myself for the sake of indulging in a good old fashioned BigFooty jibe; no less amusing for all that it's totally irrational and childish:thumbsu:

Where are you now Vinnie_Vegas?? I hope you listened to that Bulldogs supporter sitting behind you that day, and got on Cooney at 101-1!!!

P.S - Daisy is still as soft as they come...

I expect both to be in the top 50 players in the comp within the next two years. Higgins foot skills are great and he is now playing with confidence. On current form you would have to say that Higgins will be a better player when both of their careers are finished.

That sounds exactly like Daisy.
Higgins easily is better

Hah.... hahahaha...

Nuff said?

Nice post Vincenzo

If Thomas ever actually does something then he can be compared.

Thomas just gets 15-20 possies and takes a specie. Every other game he'll kick a couple of goals as well. That's it.

If you believe Mike Sheahan Daisy's been there for a while.

What a well informed man he is:rolleyes:

On this years form so far,I am surprised Thomas keeps his spot in the team each week.
On the other hand,Higgins is an absolute gun.He has already got through two serious injuries and has bounced back magnificently.
