After today's performance we dropped the wrong player from the team during the week. If we could go back to selection time

IN : Wojo;)

OUT : Stokes, Varcoe or even Lonergan.:(

Don't want to put too much pressure on Tomahawk but I hope he has a great summer and fires up next season. We need a strong marking forward who can present himself.

Cam Mooney you just have to steer the ball through the goal not boot the crap out of it and hope it lands on Punt Rd.

Totally agree. They where all horrible. Tomahawk please save us....

Lonergan at least created some contests and started well. If Ottens had of handballed to him like he should, he would have had 2 goals by half-time. There were no players front and square to the balls spilt to the front by Lonergan

Varcoe was not the worst

Stokes was just horrible - but the worst thing was it was so predictable because he has been average for so many weeks now. The club knew he was injured but still played him. Instead of giving Stokes a rev Bomber should have given himself a rev for selection

We needed someone to have a ping from 50 pover the conjestion. Wojo was the best for that

Stokes didn't deserve to be there and should not have been in the side, said it all week and still saying it. That being said, the selection committee have done a good job all year unfortunately they possibly made an error for this one and sadly the most important game!!!:(

I disagree with the point on the committee. I think the selection commitee missed some chances to play blokes like Hogan when we had sealed the minor premiership. There's some lost played development right there which will cost us going into future seasons

I reckon Stokes has been off the boil for some time and Gamble had to take over his spot. Unfortunately Stokes had an injury that stripped his pace. That just makes him a small player with average skills. And they thought he could play on Hodge?? Unbelievable

Wojo needed to be in today to create some more pace on the wings and be the man who had the guts to take a ping from 50

Selection Committee: :thumbsd:

Wojo was missed with his runs off the half back flank. Gamble would of been a great option in the forward line but Moons had a bigger case of the yips then Greg Norman had at golfing majors

dropping wojo was a hugh mistake....bomber stating we have plently of players like him is absolute bullshit...wojo is a gun and bomber pissed on himselft with this one - WHY grauntee anyone their position a week before the game??????? fuc$%n stupid.

Hunt played like shit, varcome and kelly were combined a useless act, cappy is a selfsih arseh*le who needed another week and he knew it

its not highsight --- its the coaches job

bring on the TOMAHAWK!

No. No. No. No. No.

I don't want to hear it.

I don't want to hear about his "runs off half-back". They slaughtered us everywhere.

Our fringe players in general were very, very ordinary.

That's it everybody, get it out of your system. Life quite often deals these little reality checks. It is how you respond that is important. If Geelong wants to be remembered as a truly great side it is how they respond as a group next year that is important. After all there is always next year.:)

Fringe players????

I was under the impression from Bomber's comment in the media that the only player missing from our best 22 was Wojcinski.

We struggled in the forward line today and it stood out like dogs nuts.

I am a big fan of Travis Varcoe, i think he has the potential to be a gun in afew seasons...but in all reality, he was always going to be a passenger today.

I am not a fan of Travis Varcoe, I haven't seen anything that shows me he is going to be a gun unless he hardens up and puts his heart and soul into the game. Here's hoping he can do that and prove me wrong:)

I would'nt say the forward line is shit we just blew it with terrible kicking Mooney could have kicked 5 goals today if not for his poor set shots and instead of passing the ball to Steve Johnson who was 10 m in the clear he kicked it to a Rooke in a one on one. If Ottens handballed to Lonergan in goal square he would have had 3.
If you look at Hawthorns forwards Franklin,Roughead and Williams they were held pretty well too.
I thing Geelong will use Ryan Gamble and Tom Hawkins more next year.

ChunkyDuckling obviously you decided to pay homage to Stuey Dew with a moniker like that:eek:

Forget hindsight, how about some foresight. I, along with many, felt leaving Wojcinski was a bad move. Varcoe is a hack, Stokes goes missing when it matters as predictable as clockwork. Lonergan is not up it.

It was more than that though, it was a culmination of us making bad decisions with the football, Hawthorn capatilised on their opportunities and we floundered them away...Ottens and Mooney misses in the second...that is unforgiveable and it cost us the flag - I hope they know that and are hurting. Umpiring was absolutely shocking all round.

They slaughtered us everywhere.

Um, no they didnt. It's analytically impossible to slaughter a team everywhere when they beat you 62 to 43 in inside 50s. We won the midfield and did well in defence.

We were slaughtered in attack and for certain bursts in defence because of bad mistakes.

Totally agree. They where all horrible. Tomahawk please save us....

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

You know who would have played better than our forwards today. Gary Ablett Snr and Billy Brownless. I know that they are both retired, but they, even at their age, would have done better than our forward line.

We also could have done with Larry Donohue and Doug Wade as well.

Second Quarter - 1.9
Third Quarter - 3.6

There's your game there. While Bomber would have been handy, he wouldn't have made the difference.

You must take your chances in this game, we didn't, they did. We've got 6 months to think about it then another 6 months to rectify it.
