Hodge is the most overrated player in the AFL

Re: How Did You See Hodgey's Monumental Mistake Late In The 4th

I thaught it truly represented the arrogance that cost the hawks the game. He just nonchalantly turned on to his wrong side for the 2nd or 3rd time for the night, when he had plenty of room, and grubbered it. Who do you think you are Hodgey?

And dont even start me on Buddys kicking, which the hawks have continually insisted is not a problem.

Arrogance

I can handle it from Cats fans but Melbourne and Carlton fans?

Please.

I dont care who you can handle it from....but FFS you are gonna cop it from all and sundry......just another reason why Hawthorn supporters should shut their f*ckin gobs half way through a season when you have achieved sweet f*ck all!!!

Agree, but I can fully understand the question being raised here originating from a Melbourne supporter. They are, after all experts in MONUMENTAL MISTAKES MADE LATE IN THE 4TH.

(Refers flog OP to JIM STYNES) :D

Re: How Did You See Hodgey's Monumental Mistake Late In The 4th

Every Hawks fan was hoping like hell yesterday that Hodgey's missus didnt give birth and make him miss the game, i wonder if those same fans are now wishing that she did give birth and that he didnt play.

Are we going to have anti-Hodge threads every time he has a mare?

First the North final last year, now the Geelong game. It's great that hodge is such a good player that we need to start individual threads everytime he doesn't play well, if it were most other players you'd just stack them into one huge uber-thread. Feast on hodgey's failure while you can cos it's been a failure famine and another dud game- drought is coming up, he'll win a game off his own boot when it really counts (we're in the top 4 regardless of the points last night) hehe.

He normally slots those. Still on a 15 goal 0 behinds streak. He just shanked the ball so many times last night, got around players easily, his kicking let him down is all. In that sense, he played alright, just had terrible execution. As to those who think he's a choker, have a look at this and tell me we didn't need the 4 points that night . . .

Well, it was more than one

I wonder what the stats are for players whose partners are in labour/childbirth? I know Sav had a bad game that time his wife had given birth.

Re: maybe hodge should have stayed with his wife

for someone who is supposedly a great kick, his kicking was shocking tonight, did he even hit a target?

to all those silly hawthorn supporters who compare him to judd, i've got one thing to say to you: you can't compare hodge to judd until the day he finally plays good against quality opposition in a big game. and i'm just waiting for the excuses now "oh but he didn't have a good preparation for the game..."

Spend some quality time and watch last year's Preliminary against the crows and see how Hodge goes around, you myopic flogger.

As for Judd v Hodge, lets all applaud the Prince who charmed us with his sublime talent all those years in west coast colours but now is no more, and hail to the awesomeness of King Hodge the Great.

geez if judd is a talent no more, then that's pretty harsh on hodge considering judd has ad a better year (in which he has stepped up and played his best footy when the team needed him unlike his counterpart). just wait till next year when judd has a full pre-season and gets the strength and pace back in his body, if he doesn't get any injuries he will have the most dominant year in recent history.

Christ, Judd is one of the best players going around and should make All-Australian:thumbsu: Hodge is an excellent player that any team would have but he obviously still hasn't reached the heights of Judd. I wonder how Hodge would have went running around with Cox, Kerr and Cousins. We will obviously never know but im sure he would have had similar levels of success. Judd, much like Carey and possibly Franklin may well be once in a generation type players:)

Only just saw this thread because i haven't been on line for a few days, but OMG!!!
Hodge overrated? are you deaf dumb and blind??? Even the greatest players aren't BOG every week.
And as for Friday night, it wasn't one of his best, but knowing the feeling of having your first child about to be born, i think he might have had a few little distractions.
Hodge is an absolute champion! History will prove this, and I for one will be privileged to say that saw him play:thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

A bit early putting Franklin up as a once in a generation player. His kicking for goal will have a say about that. At this stage he is no better than Richo and that is not bagging any of them, both a gun players but once in a generation? Hmm not yet I suggest.

Is it just cos he was a No.1 pick? I hear a lot of talk about how he might miss the Geelong game and that Hawks have no chance without him . . . but he's far from their best or most important player. Sewell, Mitchell, Ladson, Young, Ellis, all are better than Hodge. Or is it just me?
Are you F****** stupid???
hodge is there best player by a country mile you ********

judd has had a better year than hodge, is that what you're saying? lol

All class. Why are we even bothering to argue with idiots? One of the best players in the league..As a female supporter, I often have a chuckle at these would be if they could be blokes that were never good enough to play the game themselves. Would walk into any side in the league. ********s!!

I agree, maybe I should have underlined possibly with regard to Franklin but I def. think we can regard Judd(if he continues this type of form over the next couple of years) as a certainty to end his career with his name alongside Ablett, Carey etc. If he can get Carlton up towards the pointy end of the ladder then he deserves to be held that highly:thumbsu:
