Its very hard to say and any answer I give will be accused of bias. Hodge is a great player and is doing a wonderful job as Mr "Fixit" for the Hawks, roaming forward, going down back. Sadly, due to his issues with OP I don't think we will see the best of him as an out and out midfielder.
Gibbs, no matter what he achieves will get the "yeah but would he have been that good without Murphy, Stevens and Judd beside him"...........
Basically its too early to tell as Gibbs is only just into his third season, and despite his stats (say what you will about them) compare favourably with Hodge to the same point in their careers, we haven't yet seen Gibbs play an extended period where he will be the most damaging.......through the midfield.
I'll vote Gibbs based on IMO Hodge will be restricted to a half back sweeper (ala last few rounds and finals) with bursts on ball and up forward, whereas barring major injury I see Gibbs being full time on ball and doing more damage over longer periods of time, but needs to lift his kicking by 10%.
cue hodgepodge (but remember mate, you're on my ignore list).![]()

LOL!! Oh, you are serious????????????????????Your comparing a tagger to a backpocket player? LOL
But in all honesty atm Hodge is a better player. At the end of there playing days Gibbs will be alot better than Hodge not saying Hodge is a bad player.
We all know Bryce actually goes in and gets the hard ball. We also know that Bryce as a 19 year old polled more votes in the Brownlow than the loose man in defense Hodge. We also know Bryce can play in virtually any position on the ground. So when you take all that into account Bryce is already head and shoulders above Hodgey.
matey as a fan of AFL football why would u want to see young talented players play injured?![]()
Dislocated his thumb in training a week prior to playing his first game.........went fine, still put his hands and body into the packs to wint he hard ball.Good test of character and the best find a way to push through and get over these types of hurdles.
Hodge has done it how would Gibbs go?
Either you are trolling or ignorant. Either way it isn't looking good for you.In games Gibbs never puts himself in a position to get hurt!

Yeah nah.Gibbs is scared of Milne.

For example if Gibbs wins a brownlow will he always be remembered for backing away from big bad Milne? For example I am saying

How appropriate your post number is 13.![]()
Are we really comparing Hodge to Gibbs. Not only are they not in the same class, they are not in the same universe. Hodge by a long, long way.
When will you people learn "Gibbs is not that flash" really he is just another player.
