Opinion Home finals for our VFL team ?

Now that it's confirmed that Geelong will finish on top of the VFL ladder do they deserve to host their finals in Geelong, possibly even night games.
I reckon YES, and such games 'would' get a better attendence than if they were held in Port Melbourne.

They are always at Port Melbourne and now Casey.

That would mean we'd win all our finals up until the GF which is clearly not in the interest of the VFL and Phil Cleary.

On the radio coverage post-game they discussed the possibility of a first final at KP on the Friday night as if it was under serious consideration.

From July 19:

City of Greater Geelong yesterday confirmed it was working with AFL Victoria on a proposal to stage a VFL final under lights at Simonds Stadium should the Cats finish top two.
AFL Victoria state league and talent manager John Hook said the league was open to the idea.
"The top two teams at the end of the Peter Jackson VFL home and away games are eligible to host a home final," he said.
"With the addition of lighting at Simonds Stadium, the possibility of alternative fixturing does become possible, to avoid AFL commitments the stadium has.
"AFL Victoria will work with Geelong and the stadium to see whether a night final is firstly a preference, and secondly a possibility if Geelong were to finish in the top two."
North Port Oval will host six finals. The grand final will be at Etihad Stadium.

Redtime sports discussed the option of 1st final at KP on the Friday night. There is a Cats game on the Sat so some details to sort but it should be possible...

Disappointing not to be playing at K-Park this Saturday, best ground in the VFL and deserving of another home final given our record.

The fact Williamstown haven't played a lot down here lately wouldn't have hurt either.
