He is sitting behind me and seems to be walking freely and looks happy so I guess he went ok. Missed his stint though.

I only saw the last 5 minutes or so of the first half. Unfortunately didn't see Rhys get a touch but he was moving nicely. Just great to see him out there!

Wonder what TOG was.

Apparently played most of the first half. Heard him say his knee feels fine and that he hopes to play a full game of ressies next week. He was dissapointed that he didn't find more of the footy. I was just eaves dropping ;)

Thats not eavesdropping.. thats intellegence gathering.:D

According to either 6pr or 720. He played all but 8 minutes of the first half. The footage on sports tonight had a couple of young punks trying to throw punches at him on the field. They will be spewing when they realise that the cameras would obviously been focused on him for most of the game.

Barich, otherwise known as 46 reckons round 4 or 5 return.
I'm going for Round 3.

Yeah nah, I think is about the number 3 or 4 cog in our finals plans, they will give him plenty of time to ease into the year and look for a strong second half of the season from him.

He looked ok just a bit off the pace which is to be expected, he is a gun will be back rnd 3-4 with a bit more running in his legs. Hope he has a good year rate him highly.

Sounds like he had a rough time.

"His ball-gathering skills were rusty, but he positioned himself well at times to receive passes from teammates who missed his running-into-space efforts."

He'll be back to his best by round 5. Mark it down in the down in the calender.
Get the motor going against the swans then tear apart the Slime midfield.

hey mora,

i went to the capitol last night, scouted for dockers players all night
no one there.. (unless they were behind the bars or in the toilets all night)

Probably because its the first time he's had a recovery session for the better part of 9 months.

My issue was how much alcohol he was consuming in his recovery period and how often he was out during the recovery period.

How many possies did he have? 4

From all objective reports Palmer had a dog of a game.

I think some people on this board (I am looking at you Salim) need to eat some humble pie.

Palmer has been burning the candle at both ends during his rehab - you reap what you sow as a professional footballer.

So your try to validate your lies after 1/2 a ressies game.
Maybe a year out of the game and the psychological trauma of the fear of not having confidence in his knee had something to do with it.How many burn up a game after coming back from a full knee reco.
Your a not very subtle troll.

Leave the personal abuse out of it Salim.

I agree 1/2 a game is early on - but it is still a warning sign that things are not on track. This was a reserves game remember - not top flight - so you would expect a player of Palmer's ilk to tear it up.

Palmer has a strong "will to win" - which I like about him. I just dont think "pschological trauma" has anything to do with it.

Thats exactly what the 1/2 ressies game was,an opportunity to test the knee under easier playing conditions to see if things are on track, not tear it up as you put it .The first hit out served its purpose,he got through that ok and he will test it under tougher and tougher conditions until he has the confidence for the big time.Your a bigger fool than I thought if you think the club would have thrown him into any game first up and told him to go gangbusters .
To try to draw any comparisons on an obviously low key, first up hit out on anything else but a first up test run and validate your slur on the young man is a testiment to your hate of anything Freo and your continual criticism of the club.
PS I stick by my opinion of you in referance to the personal abuse.

I disagree totally GJ, if you have ever been through a serious knee injury (like I have) the last thing that you want in this world is to go through that pain (and rehab) again.

It is an amazing test of will for players to overcome the fear of pain and another tear in an ACL and get back into full flight footy. I dont know about Palmer's after hour exploits but I do know that it can take up to a year to begin to really get confidence back into a knee that has gone through ACL trauma.

I would not be expecting Palmer to hit his straps until late in the season. :(

Hard to see how, or why, he would "tear it up" when.
1.) It was his first hit out in a year.
2.) He was double and sometimes triple tagged.
3.) There were more punches, pinches, behind the play crap thrown in his direction than in the Demolition Derby.

I have it on very good authority as well that he parties hard, but he does not impinge on his rehab by doing so.
The odd Friday or Saturday night piss up actually does you some good by letting off steam and taking away the focus of being in long term rehab.
