How long do Kochie and Thomas wait?

We best not expect any changes to the football dept... "all coaches are signed on for next year".

How long do these 2 guys wait before they give Ken his marching orders?

Probably another three years if you go by the noises Kochie making. All the reviews in the world will not change the fact that Kochie feels that 'Ken is the man'.

To be honest Ken has to get another year and see out his contract on the basis we made the eight and he has finally decided the time is up for some of his anointed ones. The big stipulation I would have is that he is not reappointed , if in fact that is what happens, until the end of 2018. If we go backward next year Ken should be gone if we make the eight again he probably gets another two years.

Somehow I do not think that will happen and I expect Kochie to be making an announcement soon.

****ing hell. If we don't have balls to at least move on a couple of assistant coaches, why bother rocking up at all in 2018? How anyone at the club, even the Ken supporters, can seriously say we've got the best possible group around him?! We aren't sponsored by MyATM anymore. If we're sticking with Hinkley, then get him line coaches / assistant coaches that are up to scratch. Even if we have to pay out happy clappers and no hopers.

Anyone one know What were the personal problems Marshall was dealing with??
His mother has been ill for a lot of the year (I really don't know any more than that) and I have heard that they would like to have played Marshall in the AFL earlier but didn't want to put extra pressure on the lad.

Listening to KT it sounds like no decision has been made on KH. Forget the political niceties, reading between the lines and through Kochie's comments the hierarchy are seeing the failures for what they are...it's a matter of improving next year or he's gone. This leaves the door open for a long term GCS offer that Kh may find difficult to ignore.

Have we got enough money for that? Can we afford to pay these guys out? What's our financial situation like..

So they play him in a final against one of the most experienced defence
I think it was more that his personal issues were more settled and that he was in a better mental state to deal with it.

Agreed, at least 2 of the line coaches should get the lemonade and sars, but the current board under Koch has shown no more courage than their predecessors, but even they eventually bit the bullet with Choco, so the best we can probably hope for is another sideways move or two until their contracts have run out.

KT's interview on AA was interesting. There's more to this going on behind the scenes that we are privy to.

Cheers, hope she's ok now. He did say it was early in the year.

I wasn't necessarily meaning that Ken will get the flick, but reading between the lines, the non-selection of Trengove had more to it than just form. KT's non response when asked if JT will be at the club next year included the statement, "it's no doubt that his non-selection has encouraged Jackson to look at other opportunities".

Someone, I think it was Macca, said that it was the club's call to move Jackson on and KT's response reinforces that.

guess if you feel that strongly about it you could come up with the hundreds of thousands to pay them out. I don't think the club has that sort of money. We are likely to make a loss as it is.

He made some other statement too which was full of intrigue. I'll have a listen when the link is posted.

No, I didn't think you did mean that. But just pleased to think that KT doesn't think everything is rosey. I just had a listen to the interview as well and it was good to hear that they are aware of and concerned about the drop-off in memberships and attendance. KT does seem to have an understanding of how supporters are feeling about the season.

I don't care if we plan on moving him on but we still should have picked him if we thought it would've helped us win the game.

How can you promise to make a coach a ten year coach when you don't know what results he is going to produce in his tenure.

I took it to mean that Koch sees that it's his job to ensure that Ken has the support and resources to become a successful 10 year coach.
