imo melbourne are only about 2 years behind us in your rebuild. if you look at your team of under 21 it looks pretty good and when the bulk of them reach between 50 to 100 games that when you will move into the top half.

the team looks a bit short in the back half but you have martin 22yo and warnock and rivers both only 24yo. there is only one ruckmen in that group too but with johnson only 24 you may need to draft one this year.
you have sylvia and mclean both 23yo and davey 25. add to all of that pick 1,2 and 17 this year and for all the talk pick 1 and 2 will be butcher and scully. in short play the kids get games into them because the only way is up.

Actually, our backline and our ruck division are just about our two strongest elements at the moment. Frawley, Garland, Rivers, Warnock & Martin have all been damn good for us, and we've comprehensively won the hitouts every time we've had Jamar in the side.

Meesen's put in some quality performances up until his injury as well. He was superb in the Adelaide game and very solid in the other couple of games in which he played the no. 1 ruck role.

I'm confident Jamar & Meesen will be a great ruck pairing, once they're both back from injury anyway.
