Surely clubs will start tagging Leon. With Heater on holiday and Leon just dominating every week you'd think he's just about the prime candidate to get tagged. It caught Harry out a few games late last year.
I'm surprised opposition coaches have been so poor at responding to what Leon is doing.
I actually want to see it in the next few weeks to see what happens. Call it bloodlust, I dunno, I want to see a heavy tag on him and still own it up.

Well they haven't so far, but last night may have been hos final night of 'freedom' back there.

His reading of the play is amazing and his skill level is sublime.

His form this season is probably just about the story of the year so far.

He looked gone for all money last year - most suspected he had an injury given the drop off from 2009 - and with hindsight that surely has to have been the case.

And you're right I'm sure rose jam, tagging him will occur and may well deprive us of a lot of drive, ala when Heater and Harry have been tagged in the past.

I assumed after Heater's suspension he would be getting a weekly forward tag, but instead Carlton tagged O'Brien last week. It'll be happening soon no doubt with the form Leon is in.

I don't think it will be too long. I wouldn't be surprised if Hird plays a defensive forward on him next week.

We really need Harry back to his attacking best, especially without Shaw in the side. If they cut down Davis, we lose alot of our attacking drive from half back.

I don't know why the opposition would bother with it. As soon as Davis starts to get a heavy tag MM would just swing him forward and good luck to any forward tagger playing as a defender against Leon!
That's true but I think most opposition coaches will start seeing Leon as a big threat, probably bigger than Heater atm so I would expect them to at least try something.

Also even with Heater out, and Davis tagged, we can always play Ben Johnson in the same role. He's really impressed me since coming back from injury, past two games have been superb.

Right Opti!!!! Seldom see a tag on a back pocket, usually they are the ones doing the tagging!!! Leon is certainly having an AA season, and lets hope he can finish the year with what he is craving- A Flag!!!!!!

Tagging our midfield has proven to be a useless exercise because our game plan denies its effectiveness. Be interested to see where they send Slattery this week, usually he takes Didak but it won't happen this week, probably.

they cant tag him, then you leave a thomas or a swan or a pendlebury open and they will murder you. I remember a couple of years ago everyone was thinking who from collingwood even required a tag. Now there a good 5-10 players who could all possibly be tagged, great luxury to have.

I don't watch a lot of other teams play that often, so I don't know who is in form, but goddamn Leon Davis makes for a sublime backpocket - chance for an AA?

Who tags half backs anymore?

Honestly tag Davis, won't hurt us a bit

There are only so many player a oppo coach could tag and only a few decent taggers going around to go with that anyway.
Robbing Peter to pay Pendles.

he put himself last today, in the last quarter, the old Leon would have snapped over his head, instead he found cloke, he looked in bound as if it has been drilled in to him that it is greater to serve than to be on the gaol scorer's sheet.

take my hat off to him. Leon, you're a gun. Showed poise and maturity. Take a bow.
