This might be the deciding factor in Gaff's contract decision. He might want to leave Perth now to escape possible harassment. Bigger paycheck and going home doesn't hurt the decision either.

Seems more likely than him sticking around simply because he feels bad about what happened. Can definitely see him being repeatedly hounded by Freo supporters for a long time to come. Moving back to Melbourne unfortunately seems certain now. Perhaps its for the best...

Obviously way out of character so I can only think he probably meant to love tap him in the chest and got it horribly wrong.

Despite that it won't fly as a mitigating factor and he's going to be gone for plenty. I think 5. Awful effort from a senior player.

Have to agree. Reckon it was a fluke - Brayshaw dropped his knees slightly so a chest punch became flush in the mouth. Tribunal will still smash him because of the outcome, so 5-6 weeks unfortunately

Why not wait until the injury is accurately diagnosed before speculating?

For what it is worth, I think he went to jumper punch Brayshaw in the chest but either Brayshaw moved or Gaff got his aim wrong.

As he is an Eagle, he will get the maximum penalty.

Anything less is very soft, I’m sure Gaff is quite remorseful but you cause that much damage and it has to be a severe suspension. Could be our premiership hopes down the toilet but yeah, if I were Brayshaw or a Fremantle player I’d be disappointed with anything less.

Don't think that would influence his decision to stay
If he's decided to go it would reimburse force that imo.

Reckon he's played his last game for us, will be off to a Melbourne club as he'll have a target on his back here. Very out of character and rightly described as a moment of madness.

There goes our flag hopes. It's entirely possible Gaff is playing his last game for the Eagles right now. I can't even.

Pardon the intrusion folks, Im not here to gloat or whatever, I have every empathy for you guys, and Gaff - knowing he's not a grub and all.

But did anything precipitate this? Dont get to see many WC games in NSW, so apart from the lowlights reel, Ive got nothing to go on. Was anything happening before the incident, or was it as some people say, just a brain snap?

Again, apologies for the intrusion, just looking for a little context for the incident.

6 weeks. Would be 5 but they’ll add one more because Of the whole sook act on the bench with “Simmo”.
If he leaves for another club after that it will confirm what sort of person he is.
On a side note, I love when games get tough because it’s funny watching Lecras constantly looking around for unwanted physical contact.

I wonder if the Cotchin factor plays a part in length of suspension (where the Tribunal doesn't like suspending people for finals).
