I was having this discussion with my misses who thinks washing my sheets once ever 2-3 weeks is rather grotty. Personally I think it is fine. She washes hers once a week.

So I thought i would see what the general consensus is...

umm do you sleep in the same bed? or is one of those new beds that have 2 sheets one on either side:D

Probably the reason you sleep in seperate beds, she doesn't like sleeping on grotty sheets. :D

By the way, it's missus, "misses" sounds like you keep missing out, probably understandable when you have grotty sheets. :D

Both students living at home. So when she crashes at mine the convo generally comes up.

So she is your girlfriend, not your missus?

You do realise that the word missus, refers to your wife, or live in partner?

Considering how long you leave washing your sheets, doubt she'll ever be your permanent missus. :p

Really, really, really no.

Misses is a popular term these days to mean the female partner...

Still stalking me, OH dear.:D

Missus, actually is someone you live with, not a random boyfriend, or girlfriend.

By the way, I could have said something mean here, but I prefer watching you & Nicky following me around the site. :p

Maybe you should start a random thread about it just to find out how other people use the word... For something different.

Sheets weekly, and towels and tea towels daily.

Tea towels, what are they? I wash my dishes, leave them to dry & then put them away, OH & towels I wash weekly as well, as they only get used after I get out of the shower.

So aheets & towels, weekly. Doona covers, once a month.

I guess women have nothing better to do than wash sheets and towels. lol. jk

See the post before the one I have just quoted, congratulations Campbell, the stalkers are following you too. :thumbsu:

I know , I feel like I have a whole new bunch, just need mine to arrive and all the gangs here.lol

as for the towels etc. I live ina humid climiate, you have to wash towels daily otherwise they get musty, and thtas just not nice.

I change the whole bed weekly., doona cover the lot, as I chnage colour schemes etc.

Not sure how old you are but the missus is definitely a common name for girl friend amongst uni students and high school students. Also it is very common around the footy club. So you are either a little older and missed the term becoming more common, or you have been living under a rock.

Considering how pedantic you are I doubt you will ever have a permanent missus:p
