EFA. There were 3-4 about Hawthorn and many more about Sydney. I read them for a laugh.

Funnily enough, I don't remember the same on the hawks board after Geelong lost against Freo or Collingwood 2 years ago...

To be fair, this is partly a function of poor moderation on their board. Anti-Cat sentiment obviously comes up quite often on the Hawthorn board, but it would be surprising to see a thread survive on the Hawk board that was specifically started to laugh at posts on another supporter group's board. On the Geelong board those threads are not just tolerated, their mods merrily participate. It is amusing their moderators don't have the insight required to see how petty, and Hawk obsessed these threads make them look.

This is typical of the warped view that biased Geelong fans have.

The reason why Hawthorn fans booed Neville Bruns and called him a squealer was that he pressed assault charges, not because of his tribunal evidence, you peanut.

Michael Tuck never pressed assault charges for the punch Bruns threw in the first half of that game and Matthews never pressed assault charges against Steve Hocking for the "square up" that came seconds after he hit Bruns.

Geelong can dish it out, but they can't take it back. They run like little girls to their mummies and have a nice ol' squeal about it. That's their club culture.

Trying to justify the Hawthorn supporters fans reaction to one of their own indulging in one of the most brutal and cowardly acts seen on a football field is sad; most decent people (including Matthews himself) can see it was a horrible incident and as the court said, the Police investigation "ended the polite fiction that football assaults are somehow legal, and that police and the law are prevented from invading the field of play".

Matthews was deregistered as the result of a VFL investigation into the incident.

If you can find any evidence that Bruns went to police to lay charges then please post a link.
Otherwise I will assume you are talking rubbish.
I think the matter is irrelevant regardless, it was a dog act and was punished accordingly, I dont hear Matthews crying about it.

I did find this quote from Bruns after the court hearing, which is interesting : "I just think the matter should have been dealt with by the VFL and that perhaps the incident should have been handled better early on"

oh, and the 'little girls/mummies/squealing stuff is just pathetic, as is the name-calling.

This BF thread from early 2008 is surprisingly relatively civil and informative.

anyway, you have a nice day sweetpea :)

Really? What about Hawthorn after Round 22, 2009? Never seen such squealing. I loved how Brown made threatening gestures, but despite having the entire second half never actually did anything. Naturally your angry midget made baseless threats as well, like Brown he's never hit anyone in his life who was looking.

Superb rejoinder Partridge, how could I have forgotten; at least Lloyd had the decency to hit Sewell front-on.

Wow

Shit comeback

To be fair to Rohan, it wasn't him who wrote that story, it was Matt Murnane.

http://www.smh.com.au/afl/afl-news/hawthorn-on-verge-of-greatness-20120927-26o2l.html

I guess that makes me as dumb as all the shitheads who read it and posted their shitty comments underneath

In my defence, it's easy to make the wrong assumption when Matt Murnane's name appears in miniscule letters and Rohan Connolly's name and head is plastered on the accompanying clip beneath the heading.

When can we declare a bigfooty victory? I want to call it now. I've read all the threads and the Hawks trolls have taken the biggest beating ever seen since Apollo Creed's last couple of fights

Do you demand the same level of fact checking from your own when they claim (ludicrously I might at) that the term 'Bradbury' premiers/flag was coined by a Hawthorn support in reference to the 2007 grand final as a means of underplaying the Cats participation in the sledging match?

The term 'Bradbury flag' was coined by a Hawthorn supporter talking about Geelong's win in 2007, before the Hawks took 08.

Now until evidence of that is offered up one can only presume that you're a massive fat liar with no scruples about inventing facts to suit your position.

No, because one pertains to a serious assault, the other to some alleged internet trolling of little importance and murky origin.

all this stuff re : Hawthorn/Geelong/Bradbury could be verifiable if anyone was really bored enough to look into it.
I'm certainly not. 'Night.

Or your happy to accept lies that suit your argument. I'd be inclined to go with that as an explanation tbh. "Serious assault" What waffle!

Wow.
Let me get this straight : You think a bloke (Matthews) king hitting another bloke, who is unawares, breaking his jaw in two places, is what, a mild assault ??

That's fine, you go with that then

Fortunately the Victorian Police don't think like you do, or else the streets of Melbourne would even more perilous than they are now.

Seriously, you have rocks in your head seysearles, anyone who condones or downplays incidents like that is contemptible.

I have nothing more to say to you, you are clearly incapable of rational thought.

Premise of the thread is spot on.

If you look at the 2008 premiership side there are plenty of mediocre players who were talked up at the time who have not delivered on their supposed promise, and very few who are rated higher today than they were then.

The 2012 GF side will be no different, excepting that the quality is more concentrated in the oldest 5-10 bracket than it was 4 years ago.

I think you'll find he is right. From before the 2008 grand final

2007 the Stephen Bradbury premiership
Get use to it, we aren't Port. No more Stephen Bradbury premierships.
Somes up Geelong really just a bunch of individuals they got lucky last year with their "Stephen Bradbury"
This thread should all be about Geelong. You had your Stephen Bradbury year. First premiership in what 50 years and suddenly they think they are finals experts hahahahah we all know you'll always be known as handbaggers.
Your club really attracts a special class of complete and utter knobends.

Superb rejoinder Partridge, how could I have forgotten; at least Lloyd had the decency to hit Sewell front-on.

And as a result had a fractured eye socket and cheekbone

Seriously, you have rocks in your head seysearles, anyone who condones or downplays incidents like that is contemptible.

But it seems your selective in what you find deplorable

Both incidents have no place in football so tbh it would seem both of you are tarred with the same brush

isnt it funny how all fans tend to dial in, a particular time line , to suit their argument. we all do it but it does get tiresome.
Gee I wonder why a Richmond fan finds focussing on the most recent decades tiresome.... :D

Congratulations on dredging up the postings of one of the biggest tools in Bigfooty history. Maybe we'll judge you wharfie types by the posting of that oxygen thief Pav.

I never *condoned* the Lloyd/Sewell incident; just mentioned that at least Sewell saw it coming, the ball was in play, there was a football contest.

I agree, both incidents have no place in football.
