I'm pretty sure he actually did none of those things and it was just clever editing by the Victorian media out to get him.

Nice try at sarcasm ;) Yes the pushing the North player into the post was dumb but not reportable, neither was the kick to the North player, he barely touched him FFS. And having a drink at a match during your week off would be the equivalent of you going to your a work event and having a beer. We're really going to crucify someone for this? Seriously the drivel that comes out of people's mouths on here! Hurley is the only player between the two who should have a criminal record and hence should be the only one labelled a thug. If you argue with that you have no idea how the legal system is supposed to work.

Dont let the Victorian media influence you too much, they've already done a pretty good job at painting him as a thug. Hurley is more of a thug than Walker (see cab incident).

yeah that evil Victorian media. So much more biased than the fair and reasonable Adelaide media.

The difference being that the Adelaide media is confined to Adelaide where it belongs but the Victorian media doubles as the national media. Pretty much every football TV show is based out of Victoria and many of the people on the shows don't even try to hide their bias.

the whole premise is rubbish. Bias, pah. It's just selective bias mostly by interstate supporters. EVERY team thinks the media hates them. Why is that?

You are aware of the irony in playing the 'everyone thinks the media is biased against them!' card and the 'it's just those nasty people from a state different than mine imagining the bias' card in the same post, right?

I don't get why Victorians have some massive chip on their shoulder about this. You won't find a South Australian who doesn't admit that our media is biased, why do so many Victorians have such a problem with admitting it?

everyone imagines bias. It's because you notice it more when it's about your own team. It's like when you buy a certain type of car, suddenly you start seeing them everywhere. It is, for the most part, selection bias.

Let me put it to you this way. Victorian journalists don't favour Victorian teams for it's own sake, out of some kind of tribal state bias.

Mate, Melbourne have been featured on Footy Classified every single week this year (Melbourne!) and Port have been mentioned about 5 times. They even managed to do a 5-minute review of the Port v Kangaroos game at one point without once using the words 'Port' or 'Power' or mentioning any of our players, including the one who kicked the goal that put us in front with 30 seconds to go. I guess I must just be imagining that, right?

Footy Classified? I wouldn't know, I don't watch that pus.

I have seen Port discussed on all the shows I do watch though?

The umpiring carlton apparantly were on the wrong end off in perth a few weeks back got alot of press in victoria and so does the percieved view of hometown umpiring in perth and adelaide. But how many victorian journo's make issue with the free kick discrepancy adl continualy for 20 years are on the wrong end off? why when they speak about home ground umpiring they ignore this stat that is a significant trend?

Find it hard to believe that anyone would take Hurley over Walker at this stage. Whilst Hurley has plenty of upside, he has yet to prove himself to be consistently dominant force. Overrated.
Walker on the other hand has had his breakout season (although tainted by various behavioural issues). Walker by a long shot in my opinion.
