Correct... Binary!

Now, just to touch on this a bit more and hopefully help you guys win everytime. (Which I can now after being frustrated to death)

We have 4 rows of pearls.....6, 5,4 and 3. The way to win the game is to translate the number of pearls in each row to binary numbers. Here is the list to help you with this game:

1 = 1
2 = 10
3 = 11
4 = 100
5 = 101
6 = 110


Now what you have to do is just leave him with a sum of binary digits, where each digit in the sum is even and you will win every time

Eg: you start with 6,5,4 and three....in binary this is:

110
101
100
011

As you can see, the first column adds to 3, the second adds to 2 and the third adds to 2. Now what we need to do is leave all the colums adding to either 0 or 2. So we can take out the whole row of 4, which leaves:

110
101

011

Each column adds to two. Then after his turn, work it out again.

Ok, he took 1 off the row of 5, leaving 6,4 and 3:

110
100
011

we need to change the 011 to an 010...ie: 2. So take 1 off the row of 3. Now he took 3 off the row of 6 leaving 3,4 and 2:

011
100
010.

Now we want to change the 100 to a 001. So take 3 off the row of 4. He took 1 of the row of 2 leaving 3,1 and 1

All we have to do now is leave 3 rows of 1, and we win. So take 2 off the 3

Bingo. We win. Hopefully you followed that?

OK...so it's not so easy to follow.

Mobbers. You are supposed to leave him with the even numbers. Somewhere your calculations have have gone wrong, and it is now impossible to win.

Give it another go. I stuffed it up first few times but eventually got it.:)

I think I won.. but I am not sure.. he yakked on a bit.. then said 'aaargh' , turned his back and walked away.. after I had left one pearl for him.. so did I win or ?
(This was my first try- which is why I have no idea if I won or not)

Edit: Just played again.. and he left one pearl for me, and has just laughed at me.. so I lost?
