I though Jack Crisp was a spud and would be lucky to get a senior game this year

I thought Cale Morton would get it together under Neeld.

I thought Alex Rance was a coach killer.

I thought Blicavs was a joke of a player and would be delisted by now.

I thought Buckley was egotistical and didn't have good people skills (I may have been right and things have changed as he has matured- now my favourite coach in the league).

I thought Tarrant would kick 600/700 goals by the end of his career in his early days.

I though Matthew Boyd was beyond finished and should have retired 2 years ago.

I thought people overrated Nic Nat and he was more flash than substance.

Very wrong on all accounts.

This is going back post 2007, even before I joined bigfooty, but I was wrong on Gary Ablett.

I always thought Gary was a footballer that got his early gigs on his name alone, that he wasn't anywhere near as talented and would be pigeonholed into that small forward role at best @ Geelong. Boy wowee he proved me wrong.

Since then, There are lots of things I have been wrong about.

Easton wood is a much better footballer than I ever thought he would be. Really having a terrific year.

I always thought that cale hooker would only ever be remembered for his failed attempt to catch buddy. I thought he had talent, just didn't know where he would fit. Is probably in the top 2 defenders in the league now, with still the scope to improve. Super player, and it must be so reassuring to dons fans to see him down back.

As for my own club, I was wrong on several things, one being our performance this year. When Mackenzie went down, I thought we were gone, 7-8 wins maximum. Then brown went down, and the predictions of us finishing 14/15th was looking very realistic. I keep waiting with baited breath, but this group has exceeded all my expectations this year.

I was wrong about West Coast this year. They are actually okay.

I didn't think they'd win more than 6 games after Mackenzie and then Brown went down, will double that figure soon enough and should comfortably make the finals from here. Even if they fail to finish in the top 4 they still look the goods to earn a home final minimum which you'd expect them to win.

They're better than ok too, seriously good team. Somehow.

I thought that West Coast were going to be battling for the spoon after the Fremantle game.

I thought Collingwood was going to finish in the bottom 6.

I thought Gold Coast and Brisbane were going to be competitive for the 8 this year.

I thought Fremantle was not going to be as competitive as they are now (though I did think they would be top 4)

I thought we were fooked, too. Gov, Schofield and Sheppard holding down the tall defensive posts. Duggan, Yeo and Sheed all in the middle Kennedy leading the Coleman. Go team.

I really just wanted to share this picture, though:

Eagles 2015 Dogs 2015 Dockers 2015

Cats 2014 (reckon everyone's been wrong about the Cats at least once in the last 8 years)

Dangerfield - much better player than I thought he would be. Still could improve his kicking and consistency but is a top 10 player imo anyway

My wrong predictions are pretty bog-standard:

I thought Port Adelaide was a basket case in 2011. Over the next few years they proved me wrong. In January this year I thought they would definitely make the grand final, perhaps be premiers. Not this year I guess.

After 2012, I thought that the Crows could progress to flag contention in 2013. That certainly didn't work out.

And also this year, I thought Fremantle got their chance and blew it in 2013, and that their ageing list would see them slide.

But when Geelong lost the 2013 preliminary final and I thought this was the end of the era for them, I was absolutely right and Geelong hasn't won a final since.
