Whilst Im annoyed at Benny for yet another saga - I will support him because I think he has real problems, whether its family/social/drug problems he reallly needs to sort his life out first.

As for Benny the footballer - we all know how f*cking fantastic the guy is and how important he is to our team.

I really hope we get to see him play again ( I think we will ) and I can't wait for that day.

Initially at the start of the season when he isn't there its going to be very sad and hard to take.

However at the end of the day one player doesn't make a club - even if your Benny Cousins.

I will no longer be supporting Ben. He has had many years to kick his drug problem and many incidents that don't seem to affect him. This is a bloke with plenty of free time and unlimited cash to throw at the best therapy available.

He simply has to become responsible for himself and his actions - he never has been. This is what the suspension is all about.

hes an idiot for how he got himself suspended and how hes been complacent but we all have to understand hes been going through a rough patch. im still supporting him but hes a tool and gotta get himself into the right mindframe and play sizziling footy.

bring on round 1.

Mate, stick with your boy. He is a champion and is going through the darkest time of his life. He needs support and needs to know that you guys support him. Send the club a message that you are with Ben during this time. Don't abandon him - he needs all of you guys. If the mail is correct and he is an adict then he needs his fans to stick by him.

As a Carlton man (and a supporter of one of the best players I have seen), I think that WCE fans need to stick with him during his hour of need. He may have let you down but he owes you nothing.

If you want me to go away (trolling) just ask.....

Thats the best advice i'd give.Forget him..for now. There's 40 odd other players to be concerned about.
He's the Phil Carman of his time...a selfish poser.

Woah dude, back up

No one at the club has said that so far
thats true

we assume its drug related cause of what was written last week - assumption is the mother of all f-----ups

he clearly has a problem...whether its an addiction, something medical (eg depression) or family is heckin'g irrelevant....and if it is an addiction its not gonna go away in a week either

I dont know about how he is mentally but if your not worried, I think you should be - for what its worth I agree with the first post in supporting Ben and hoping that he can get better

If you truly support Ben Cousins football shouldn't even come into the equation. If he does get back to playing AFL footy that's all good but the priority at this point should be facing his drug demons and overcoming them, and that's not something you can do overnight. True supporters of Ben should wish him all the best, hoping for his sake that he can somehow pull his personal life back together.

Good luck to the guy, because it's going to be pretty tough for him and he's going to need it.

So will i this is a Personal issue and he should get every bit of support from every fan and supporter.

If anything this will devide or unite the player group. Destiny will decide that.
******** taking the high moral ground are pathetic lowlives.

The playing group is clearly divided, just ask embers and chick, they are punching it on already. Deleted idiotic comment.

I will definatley support him. Yes he's made a few mistakes, but look at the amazing service that he's given our club.
:)

I truly wish Ben a speedy recovery!! He is one of the best footballers around in the AFL and I do hope he gets the love and support he needs to fight whatever it is that is tormenting him at the moment.
Although I am a Pies supporter, I have always admired Ben for his work ethic on the footy field. He is an exception and shows pure class when playing. I hope that we will all get to watch it again, but not before he is well and truly ready to come back and be at his brilliant best!!

Good Luck Ben and best wishes!!

Whilst I`m very disappointed at the damage that he`s done to our club...and yes, he has damaged the club, I still remember reading about how Ben took a pay cut when things were tough on the money front. I still vividly remember his exploits on the field, where he almost singlehandedly lifted the team over the line. I still vividly remember his obvious love for the club, which makes all of this so hard to understand.

Can`t help myself, I love Ben. Hope he can work it all out.

Gotta say that the way the media is crucifying him at the moment (Duffield, you odious creature!!!) is almost criminal. A pox on the lot of them.

This is a bloke that has single handedly dragged the team kicking and screaming over the line on numerous occassions. He gets my support without reservation.

The one thing I will say is I was absolutely disgusted with the articles in the West Australian on Wednesday. they were all so neagtive towards Ben and so much speculation. I just hope that they will give him the space he requires to recover, they could make it worse, but somehow I dont think they really care. Anythign to get a story I suppose.

Yep because its the media's fault Cousins has "personal issues"

early last year cousins did an illegal u turn, stupidly, right in front of a cop.

now for you and me, this would result in a warning, at worst a fine.

instead this cop pulled ben over , called the media and would not let ben leave untill various cameramen had arrived and got their photos, he then proceded to warn ben about the driving and finally let him drive off about an hour later.

but yeah the media have had no contribution to ben's misery over the past year.

Hate the media, absolutely hate them.
Ben Cousins will never lose my support.

it mite not entirely be thier fault, but they sure as hell make matters worse.
The poor guy gets raveged by them.
Particually in the West. They love ripping him to shreds.
On one hand, you've got a great player who has damaged himself and his club thru repeated episodes of irresponsible behavior. On the other hand, you have the media who have the job - and the responsibility in a free society - to report information that is in the public interest. The great player has a history of violating criminal law statutes. The great player has been rumoured to have a problem with the use of illegal drugs. Suddenly, the club suspends the great player and is insinuating that he has a substance abuse problem. The great player's father eventually admits his son has a substance abuse problem and indicates the great player will himself admit it to the public soon. The rumours and speculation are pretty much validated as fact. The newpaper is negative towards the great player. The media reports the sad details. Truth is painfully brutal!
I certainly can see why you would hate the media. A fine democratic society like China or North Korea wouldn't let this happen in its media! I think you should actually blame the media because they must be responsible for this situatuion in some way, shape, or form! It's time Australians realize that ignorance is indeed bliss!
And a question for Juddyzthebest - How exactly is Ben Cousins a "poor guy"? Because he got caught ingesting illegal substances? Because he got suspended and will be deprived of a generous salary? Because he's disappointed the supporters that have stood behind him for years? Because he's thrown away something so many others would love to have even if they had it for only one day? I guess I don't see him as a "poor guy"! Please explain.
