i wasnt able to make it to the game this week and im hoping someone else who was there can tell me was there dissapointment after the loss or more of a celebration of the 15 in a row and the fact that our B - team was able to match it with the 2nd placed team. you cant get a good feel of the game on the TV and i would hope there was alot of people cheering our boys off and a pat-on-the-back?

u absolute fool! why would they cheer a loss?!?

Sounds like a Richmond supporter...happy with mediocraty.

We should accept nothing less than victory at all attempts, even if we have won 15 in a row and even if we have top spot secured.

I hope losing hurt them and I certainly hope they werent given any false or weak comfort by the ladder position or misguided fans.

Absolutely ridiculous post.

Cheering a loss is pathetic behaviour that dooms us to failure. I personally hope that the players copped a massive spray from the coach. And I can tell you that the supporters around me in the Gary Ablett Terrace were pissed off, and letting the players know about it, AS THEY SHOULD HAVE.

Cheering a loss? Bloody unbelievable.

Port were on fire and so much faster - too many of our senior players made errors (aside from the blunders of Henry) and the place went quiet as happens when we lose the momentum. The fight back was remarkable and almost came off - but nothing of the feeling of anger when we did the same thing against the Roos in Rnd 5 - i.e. why had we not played like this until now? The fumble in their forward line all happened so quickly and we thought we were home by a point - a bit stunned - then reality sank in -but no "Here we go: 2006 again" Didn't get that feeling at all since Port had controlled the game all day and H was like a lumbering, fumbling dodo for most of the match - most around me thought it was gallant on our part with vital players out. (Still should have been able to hang on - but there is the lesson)

Yeah lets take a chill pill everyone!

Imo BDP, the atmosphere at the ground was pretty good. We really got behind the team, especially in the last quarter getting the chants going and that. (hell even my MUM stood up after Gazzas goal). And I'll admit I clapped after the final siren (exactly three times, no more :o), beacuse of our 'never give up' mentality even when the game was seemingly out of reach.

How we go this week is the key. Need to get back on the winners board going into September. :thumbsu:

that chant was fantastic. it started at the cheersquad at the wade stand end during break and about a minute before the bounce spreaded over to my end at the ablett terrace.

there didnt seem to be as much frustration in the atmosphere as we experienced week in week out last year. ablett's goal was the biggest roar i've heard there this year, and i've been to every game.:thumbsu:

I can imagine Ablett doing that in a close finall too - in fact, I hope he does. A couple of points down with 10 seconds remaining in the Grand Final, Ablett darts around 4 players and launches it straight through the middle. Ah the wet dreams! :P

i'm sure alot of cats fans would take that. i dont know if my heart would

From what I saw on TV Ottens was shattered. Passion I like to see.

And so he would after the efforts he made when we were in front. Took the two best contested marks of the day in the most crucial contests.
Then Hank goes and stuffs it up.
Otto was exhausted, yet gave his all to help the team hold on. I'd be devastated after that too. Good on him :thumbsu:

Drop punt... do you sit in the brownlow stand by any chance

The feeling after the game was just numb really, nobody was overly disappointed by it. Unlike the old murmurs and sour faces, people were walking out chatting away with some smiles around the place. I think as much as winning would have been great, we all kinda felt the pressure ease a little. No real emergency yet. However if I walk out of the Gabba on Saturday night with another loss, I'll start to worry a little more... but alcohol should ease that worry.

um i dunno which one its called do you know were the pivots is thats where i am its above the rooms and to the side of the coachsbox

I have to admit i commited the cardinal sin on the weekeend i left 5 minutes after motlops goal in the last qtr. Had the daughter on board for the first time at Kardinia. I couldnt believe how many roars ther were as i was walking back to my car.

I must admit if i had of seen us get back in front and then loose in the last minute i may have scared my kid from ever coming to another game.
