I said in round 3 last season that Thompson was a disgrace to this club only to cop abuse and watch everybody show faith in this disaster of a coach.

Now we have reached the lowest point since his signing before the 2000 season.

Is anyone passionate about this club to care about what it does off the field behind closed doors? I for one am sick to ****ing death of listening to the same old tiresome shit that dribbles from this laughing stock of a football club. It's the same crap week in week out. The club refuse to make any changes at the top. No one here could possibly come up with a quality argument in why Thompson should continue for another week at Geelong.

It's clear that Frank Costa wants to leave this club lwith a reputation that he's 'a man of his word' by supporting Thompson and making excuses for him. To me it's garbage and he has to shoulder some of the blame for our continual failures.

I don't want to sit here and just type about how pathetic we are, i'd like to make it known that us the supporters don't deserve to have to watch and listen to the same old crap every week. The club should have to face up to our views on what needs to be done. We keep this club in existance so we should be heard.

I don't know what to do just yet but i want to do something. Too many 'fans' sit there saying 'oh next week we'll beat blah blah and roll on from that, it'll be ok'. It's not going to be ok. This is absolute trash.
Either you're with me or against me in standing up against this shit.

bomber is gone , the players are not giving him anything near 100% week after week , 40% at best ......

guy mckeena should be givin the job today ...

I thought last season was just an aberration and that some how we'd get back on the right track this season and get to where a team with a list like ours should be. I thought we were shocking against the Doggies, but had turned the corner against Carlton and continued that form against Melbourne.

Last year I was willing to give Thompson another chance. But not anymore. The guy just has to go. I was at the game today, and was amazed with some of his match-ups, and the fact he never seemed to try to rectify problems, or at least minimize the damage. But the last straw was hearing him admit he didn't know who was playing on Simpson. Isn't it his job to know who was playing on him?

It is just staggering that someone who has publicly admitted that he's basically just passing time till his contract runs out at the end of the year is still at the helm. Why would our players try their guts out and play with passion week in, week out, if the coach couldn't give a stuff? I'm sure there's dozens of potential AFL coaches out there who'd be busting a gut to get Thompson's job, yet we persist with someone who's heart simply isn't in it anymore.

Yes, it's noble that Cook, Costa and Thompson have their "gentlemen's agreement", but it's only to the detriment to the club, and a smack in the face to all the members and supporters of the club. The sooner they come to their senses and pull the pin on Bomber's contract the better.

And to think i got bagged for not buying a membership because Thompson was in charge.

We all know he should have got the arse in 2006. How that team ever lost 5 games in a row is beyond me.

G. Hocking. Rd 6. It's on the cards.
I love the bloke, but I hope not. We need someone from outside. A hard coach tho, bomner is too soft.... Guy McKenna would be good or Vossy (but I think he needs to do an apprenticeship first). As much as I love Buddah, I don't think he's the man....

Not saying I think he's the man either, but it's what I heard at the beginning of the year. Hocking on standby for replacement after rd 6 pending performances.
Ahhhh, cool. Well, I'd say lose to the Tiges and its hello Buddah if your sourse is on the money.

Bomber looks like a bored bloke at work just waiting for knock-off time. He doesn't even make an effort with his excuses. We are into our eighth year of a five year plan. Bomber (One-breath-of-a-coma) Thompson..... It's time to go..................

Successful clubs are brutal and decisive about the way they act, this has happened too often to the luaghing stock called Geelong. Thompson did a good job rebuliding a list butchered by Ayres but was never the man to coach them to the next step.
I wonder if the bootstudder is to blame today with so many of them falling over, last year it was the fitness guru.
Imagine if Richmond win this week, who'll be to blame then??

I've written so much about this thus far, Bomber isn't the only problem.

If players aren't putting in 100% then they shouldn't be putting on the jumper, it isn't the coach. Passion for yourself and others leads you to inspiration, to change and make it 'right'.

Believe me there is more than just the coach wrong here. Whilst I think Bomber was the right move for the season, as there was no other talent left.

I agree that this is definitely his last year, he just hasn't performed with a fairly good list in the last couple, therefore he has had his chance. However I believe it is more than that.

Most of the players seem to not have that edge, the belief in themselves or their team-mates.

I've said this on other threads, this is leadership. Inner leadership to inspire themselves, and the team to achieve goals. There is always finger pointing, but no-one seems to be able to lead out there.

Guys who have been around for years struggle, then to let a rookie come and take the game apart like it should have earlier in the game, it amazes me.

The guys cannot inspire or lead themselves, therefore cannot find empowerment, especially with so many baggers in these threads and throughout nearly every media outlet, the Addy included.

Is it from the tag of 'handbaggers', or is it a constant feeling of lost causes, i.e. 80s/90s lost premierships.

We really must move on, accept the team for what they are, empower them to be better, and maybe look at another coach.

I want to be positive here, as there is so much dissatisfaction and negativity around. Remember it is only early in the season, who knows what could happen, lets support the team NOW, hopefully that will work wonders.

Maybe, maybe not, but at least I can be happy within myself that we gave it a shot, instead of just being frustrated every week.

If you didn't get a membership because of Thompson, I cannot believe there is someone that shallow.

Alas, I've found that person.

I'd just like to revel in my own 'told you so' moment: I've been saying for ages that if Ling is playing shit, put him up forward. Lo and behold, people are saying it happened and he brought us back into the game. *dances in triumph*

It should be noted that I don't think anyone ever actually objected to this proposal; and furthermore, I'd like to distance myself as far as possible for the bitter and twisted wreck of a human being that is Renegade.

Teams tend to generate success to memberships. It's quite obvious. I refused to get one because i know we are going nowhere with Bomber (and it's not like we are in money troubles)

And besides living in Perth a membership has very little use to me aside from having a bit of pride in my club, and at this stage there is none.

Only an idiot deals in absolutes...you sound like George Bush!.

Mind you I do remember you have been saying to get rid of Thompson for a long time and credit where credit is due I now agree with you. This team currently has a cancer of mediocrity that is quickly going to disintegrate it. They simply must start looking now for a quality coach who will bring an environment of professionalism to the club, I fear it is already too late for some players and if that is the case then get rid of them and I don't care who they are. Looking squarly at Scarlett.

Never too late. Sure there are some problems down there that need fixing but I dont think Matty Scarlett is a problem.

I also will not renew my membrship, i live in QLD and it is a donation to the club as always ...yet i am awaiting change and promises to come to frutition as with the other 25% from lasyt year. Itis not about the quantity of the $$$$$$ it is about why should I!
As for the German i totally agree, lets start with all your positive thoughts by the coach. It is his job to get the boys up.
How much would it cost to get LEigh Mathews?????...........just payit then we will be hardcore.

scarlett said last year that if Thompson went then he would go....that gives the impression scarlo believes he is too valuable to the club and is playing politics.

Scarlett is a great player but he's also a dumbass and no leader. The statement above indicates that if he stays with the club after Thompson goes then it will be with some resentment. That is the last thing any team trying to build a winning culture needs...he would be very valuable trade bait.

I thought he was just sticking up for the coach - somebody had to. Bomber takes all the blame - reasonably warranted, but he isn't the only problem.
