I was in the crowd when Fev booted 8 goals in Carlton's biggest ever comeback versus Essendon. Sitting behind the goals with my bomber supporting gf haha. 48pts down I think it was. Good times :)

Wayne Harmes went after Carman in the '78 First Semi. Crowd went bunta.

Sat with Kevin Sheedy that day, he barely said a word, was still playing with Richmond, at the end I was all hyper and supporter stuff, and he said, 'Carman got murdered', week later Fabulous played his last game for Collingwood.

Not one Magpie backed him that day in the Semi.

Round 20, 2000 one of my worst games I can remember. Massive crowd, huge build up. Kouta off in first 5 - Grand final gone then and there. Bradley goes down as well. We went down having a crack, Ratten BOG by some way. I went home knowing the Scum would win the flag and they only team that could stop them could no longer stop them. We were a better side than them up until the injuries pound for pound. Kouta was worth two at that stage. Shattering walk back to the city, didn't lift my head or speak a word the whole way.

One of those games I missed for some reason.
Pretty stoked to watch the replay though.

when Fev kicked 9 (his career best) against richmond, 2 beauties shrugged of thursfield and dribble one from about 45 out, and Brad fisher dropped it just outside the goal square and fev just kicked it in mid air over his head

Western oval and we hadn't kicked a goal, mate drove and wanted to leave. heard our only goal on the radio.

Hamil and that miss and then Melb ran all over us.

W Harmes to Sheldon... goal

Bosustow - moty, crowd was loudest i had heard at PP

Kouta - those fabulous 7 weeks in 2000, where he made Carey, Hird and Voss look 2nd rate

The great Marc Arceri saved our bacon out west that terrible, wet day. And yes those 7 weeks are very doubtfully be likely to be seen again. It was like a man playing with kids. We would have won the flag in a canter on the back of him such was his dominance if he stayed fit and healthy. Bloody round 20.
Was at that Melb game too, Brad Green towelled McKay in the last quarter, despite Rattens best efforts we couldn't buy a centre clearance for the entire last qtr. Shit day.

Funnily enough I actually attended the game at the SCG that year when the Swans smashed us and followed up the next week at Waverley versus the Saints. I certainly was not driving home that night anticipating what was about to happen!

What actually happened then? Did jack load up on the opposition for over 39.5?

Surely something was up that we'd get pumped by the two bottom sides by 10 goals plus and beat everyone else?

We struck a red hot Sydney, with Plugger getting hold of SOS & Roos having a picnic in defence & a number of their no name players having possibly the best game of their respective careers.

The following week against St Kilda was typical of Carlton teams throughout the '70s, '80s & '90s. Inclement weather, a game they shouldn't lose, VFL Park. All a recipe for an upset.

1979 round 7 at Princes Park when we played Nth Melb and both teams were still undefeated.

Long queues to get in, I could not get into the ground until after 1/4 time. Huge crowd.

It was a fantastic game of footy that reflected both teams form and it had an electrifying atmosphere. It was a fluctuating game where neither team could gain a handy break.

It looked like we would win until Easton and Glendinning kicked goals for North after the 30 minute mark of the last quarter and we lost by less than a goal.

I remember after the game listening to the radio a 3LO commentator saying that it was one of the best games he had seen in many years.

During that season everyone expected Carlton to play North in the grand final. North were our main threat with their experience and were a much better side that season than Collingwood.

Remember that one well, big Percy took a couple of pack marks, and slotted a couple late in the last quarter and looked like he'd be the hero, then bloody Glendinning wrecked it.

Thought I would start something different to try relive some memories and hear yours too...

I was in the crowd when Juddy went bang in the elimination final, @#$% that was loud, just watched it again (admittedly I have watched the game several times), wasn't too far from him either.

Share a magic Carlton moment that you were there to witness.

I was there when Braddles ran down the wing at Princes Park and kicked the banana from the 50m line against WC....

An ex-player who was only young at the time suggested that a few of the senior blokes made quite a tidy profit off those rounds. :D

Was at that game, early in the season in 1995...what a great year to be a Carlton supporter! :thumbsu:
More enjoyment from beating Essendon after SOS, Koutoufides, Allan and Bradley missed or were late withdrawals. Vance's last game. Massie towelled Lucas, only to be traded for Andrew "Premiership player" Eccles at the end of the year. Parkin and Brittain were more responsible for our lean years than the 2002 penalties. Poor drafting and trading meant we lacked middle aged players and leaders to stop us from bottoming out like Melbourne.

I was in the crowd this day.

Went with two bombers fans.

They were none-to-impressed watching bask in glory while they soaked in the rain.

The trains went past and honked their horns and some of the players briefly thought it was qtr time......

Some big names played in the team that night... others not so big.
