at the WB v BL match on sat night, and i can say that we should walk all over the Wstern Bulldogs this Friday night. Never before have i seen a team desperate for tactics. It was unthinkable that this team stopped the winning streak of Essendon.

It is also interesting to note in the HS that Wallace enforced the flooding tactics. If we can keep one or two players in the defending 50, whilst the doggies go chasing the ball we should easily stop their flow of play.

i hope we will RUN all over them, but do you think they might be craving a win, and may have just had a bad night?

Well of course they are craving a win, (and you might be able to say that they have had 4 bad rounds), but no, i think they just had the wrong tactics, and were unable to amend them to fit into the Lions style of play.

For instance: The lions were getting it to their 50 in three quick kicks, whilst the Bulldogs were interrupting their flow of play by stopping on marks, thus letting the Lions man-up.

True, the dropping of marks and slipping over didn't help.

i see... but if you saw the scores and not the game - as i did - you can see that the doggies stayed with them along the whole game. the lions didn't win by too much - 16 - and had a medium leed along the whole game. would you think that we'd have to play a quick game of footy to out do them, or you think we'll be fine? coz also, we have a diff style of play than the lions do...

I hate the way the Bulldogs play. It makes for a horrible, frustrating match most of the time. Anyway, I am sure Neale Daniher was there and he will know what to do.

Well, their backline is pretty poor when matched up against our forward line. I am looking for Neitz to take more strong marks, then have the likes of Vardy, Armstrong, McDonald etc. roving the packs.

West was a late withdrawal too, wil lbe interesting to see how he comes up. The midfield battle is shaping up to be a REALLY good one.

And with the possible inclusions of Walsh, Johno, Thompson, Robbo, and who else?? We seem to have a fair bit of depth.

Well, who can we drop?? Brown is injured, Funcke and Jolly could go. But we only need to bring in, say, Walsh and Johnstone right now. Why change a winning side?

Why change a winning side?? Depends on who can be brought in!
I would give Jolly another go as he needs time to mature as a ruck man.
With Brown out possibly Godfrey or Thompson in for him.
I'd put in Walsh (if he is availible) for Funcke.
And if Johno is right then bring him in for Williams (maybe).

Well I think Melbourne shouldn't get too ahead of her herself. This game on Friday could be very very dangerous, in fact it could be a real turning point for either team. Sure Bulldogs have been playing like sh#t, but they need a win and after playing well against the Lions they will be confident and looking for a win against Melbourne, who lets not forget has a pretty poor recent records against the dogs. If Melbourne goes into the game expecting an easy game and a win, theres no doubt in my mind they'll lose, which is exactly why its very important for us to stay focused and not to take this game too lightly only coz they dogs have had a bad start to their season.
