Feel bad for Hodge, did everything that was asked of him, but sometimes things don't go your way. I had my doubts about Watson, mainly about his ability to come in and score quickly at the end on an innings which before this WC he was very crap at. It gives me great pleasure not only to say that i was wrong and that Watson can smash the ball, but to see that Watson took an area of his game that was a weakness and has worked on it and turned it into a strength. As long as he has the mentality to keep improving himself i can see him being a part of both aussie teams for a very long time.
Like him or hate him no one can accuse Watson of not working hard on his game , perhaps Cosgrove could take some tips on work ethic from Shane .

Makes his injuries even more annoying.

The medicos would seriously have to be looking at whether Watson's commitment has resulted in him over-training.

He was excellent the other night, but it is only one innings.
I was wrong about Stuart Clark and may be wrong about Watson, but I was right on Hogg and Tait so I'm on an even keel.

So everybody is in love with Watson after one innings, i can't wait to see this thread after he fails in the WC final, when it really matters

If that happened, the baggers would still be basing it on one innings.
But I see what your saying.
They love to tell people how stupid they are for praising someone for doing well in one innings because 'it's just one innings' yet those who do/will pay him out if he fails, they'd be bagging him on his performance in just one innings too. lol.
Watson(and many other players) can't win for loosing sometimes.
:(

To be honest the thing I've had about Watson is I don't rate his bowling in ODI's (Really he only gets wicket because they attack him) and think it would be about as good as Roy's in Tests.
He's proved me wrong by showing he can up the ante with batting, and he'll probably play quite a few Tests for us, but I don't think he'll ever be an all-rounder of any sort, moreso a part timer.

Warney got a hell of a lot of his wickets that way too :)

Attacking, defending, who cares; a wickets a wicket.
