Looked good in the pre season games, but of course that's a different animal to the real stuff, so it remains to be seen? I must admit that the 3 or 4 games of WAFL I've seen him play this year didn't impress me.

Good luck to him though, I hope he burns!

I reckon he'll do a Peake and look AFL class immediately. Book him in for the majority of the season to come. A different body type to the rest of our midfield thank god, Peake excepted, skillful and quick. The decision making is the big question mark under AFL pressure, fingers crossed he picks it up ok.

Seriously, does anyone really know what we can expect from him?
I have been told he is very speedy.

Same here. He does have excellent disposal off both feet.

He won't need to get a hell lot of it to have an impact.

Absolutely (i have posted this a couple of times). Some guys just need the added pace of the big leagues to strut their true stuff. After that Hawthorn game I am convinced GIbbo is one of them.

I really really hope that he gets a bit of an extended run rather than the usual one game that Freo rooks tend to get. Chuck him in there for 5 games like Drum last year and let him have a crack I say.

Webster: first man out.

Hopefully the club are shopping him around for a decent trade considering he's not rated.

He is obviously rated very highly to be kept on the list after three knee reco's. He is just around the 22 to 24 man mark, so he will float in and out of the team. Every team has guys rated around 20 to 25 who do that. A good example is Armstrong at the Eagles.

Soirry to invade your board but I am an east Freo man who has watched Ibbo since 15s development squad.

This guy is a potential Roll Royce.

Wonderful athleticism, pace and skilful.

Quiet and shy type of kid and is the type who may take a few games to adjust and settle but believe me this kid will play 22 games for you next year and plenty more after that.

You have a long term quality player and I wish him the best.

I hope he debuts well for his confidence. It was great how the crowd got behind Collard when he debuted a few weeks ago. Lets give him a warm welcome to the purple horde when he runs on

Webster would have minimum trade value. He is the sort of player who changes clubs via the PSD rather than for a pick, but if there was a third round pick there, I'd take it. If not, it is good to have him on the list as a depth player. If he's in our best 22 that would be a good incdication that we're struggling or he's having a purple patch.

Now that's exciting! :thumbsu:

Thanks for the comments. :)

Have been a huge fan of Ibbo for some years, I have said it numerous times Ibbo is Peake but with better skills and more composed. My only worry is with East having the bye I can see him missing out tomorrow for Webster or Campbell

I was guilty of talking Ibbo up earlier on this season. After watching him play a couple more WAFL games I've gone off him a fair bit and now agree with you Scham.

Apart from Collard the only WAFL candidate that excites me is Smith, and he is a risky proposition who is probably yonks away from a debut.

Peake was never carving it up in the WAFL. His game is suited to AFL level. Hopefully it's the same deal with Ibbotson.

I also rate him highly, he is very classy and should be a good player. Just dont think he is as quick as some Freo supporters are saying/expecting. He isnt slow but he's not the type to burst away from a standing start. I'm also not sure what position he will playing in the dockers side, he would make a good HBF but Freo have pleanty of those types. He is far from proven in the middle even at WAFL level and dont think he even played much in the middle through colts(?).

Am I being alittle too harsh by saying he probably would have wanted to show more at WAFL before he got a go in the bigtime? Hasnt really done much at that level YET.

Anyway, sounds like I dont rate the guy and I do. Just might be alittle before his time but we'll see.
