Who do you think will win? I think they do cull down this list further in the coming month so we should get a better idea of the actual shortlist.

What's with Trott being a nominee for the 'Poeple's choice award'?
And Broad for cricketer of the year?
Whatever. Will go with kallis for cricketer of the year.

Cook has surely got test player in the bag, just a question to whether he has cricketer of the year award. Just had a great run, and still in it !

Bit surprised Prior and Bell were left out of the Test team of the year. 7 English players though would be a little greedy

Think Cook will win Test player of the year.

Ian Bell has been stiffed for the Test side, he's got something like 1150 runs at 97 in the last year.

Amla has half that for an average in the 60s.

Trott has 800 odd at over 60.

De Villiers has 509 at 79.

Sangakkara has 400 runs at 45.

As far as I can see, he's got the second most runs and the second highest average.

Maybe the selectors should have to explain their criteria.

Clive Lloyd is a buffoon.

Also Broad gets in on the back of 4 great Tests.Just from the England team Bresnan has had a better year than him and Tremlett was just as good in Australia as Broad was against India and more consistent against Sri Lanka.

Broad got in on the back of two great tests. The qualifying period doesn't include the last two tests of the India v England series, I'm pretty sure.

It is a problem, and will be ongoing, that some players from specific countries only play 5/6 tests in a year or less and others play over 10. Nothing that can be done about that as the FTP is so uneven. This is why looking at aggregates doesn't necessarily work.

And why the ICC awards are so... limited, to some extent. I haven't been able to take them that seriously since Johnson won. That one still leaves me bemused.

Cricketer of the Year: Alastair Cook

Test Player of the Year: Alastair Cook

ODI Player of the Year: Hashim Amla

Emerging Player of the Year: Darren Bravo

Associate and Affiliate Player of the Year: Ryan ten Doeschate

Twenty20 International Performance of the Year: Tim Southee 5-18

Women's Cricketer of the Year: Stafanie Taylor (West Indies)

Umpire of the Year: Simon Taufel

Spirit of Cricket: MS Dhoni for his recall of Ian Bell during the second Test match between England and India at Trent Bridge (surely there joking, it wasn't in the spirit he re called him, It was only after he was asked during the tea break by England and also because the crowd sounded like they were gonna riot:cool:) Neither of the nominated are worthy, its an odd award. Maybe it should go to Ireland, because beating England in the world cup was surely in the spirit of the game. :p

People's Choice Award: Hashim Amla

ICC Test team of the year:
Alastair Cook (Eng)
Hashim Amla (RSA)
Jonathan Trott (Eng)
Sachin Tendulkar (Ind)

AB de Villiers (RSA)
Jacques Kallis (RSA)
Stuart Broad (Eng)
Graeme Swann (Eng)
Dale Steyn (RSA)
James Anderson (Eng)
Zaheer Khan (Ind) 12th man

Stuart Broad is not who I think would be in the 11. Highly doubt Zaheer should be 12th man. besides that no complaints
