Hopefully Jade Rawlings nominates for the National Draft.

Then the picks go like this.
1-Cooney
2-Raph Clarke
3-F Ray
4-K Bradley
5-J Rawlings
6-Sylvia
7-Tenace

If Bradley and Clarke go top 4 at least or Farren Ray I will be Stoked.

Would be good for Jade to nominate for the National Draft, it would effectively give us a better pick.

However, there's still a chance in the PSD.

I reckon one of Sylvia, Tenace or Clarke will be available at pick 6 but Essendon will pick them up. Damn that last win. Could be two years in a row we have missed on a Salopek and Tenace by one win. Oh well if your uncle had **** he be........ ;)

Ray or Chaplin will be in the mix for us but I reckon pick 7 is maybe a bit to high for Chaplin. Ray will be a good player and we could do with another high quality midfielder with pace and skill. I don't care what people say our midfield needs to get better for us to be a force. Basically we just take the best player left.

As for pick 22. Hopefully Gayfer, Mundy or Morrison slip through. Fingers crossed. It would be a dream if Watts or McLean slipped through but they are bound to be taken between 10-20. Stranger things have happened though. Every year one of the touted top 10's slip badly. Last year it was Paul johnson, the year before it was Stephen Armstrong. Luke Peel is another player who is all class and would be great in the hoops.

Pick 42 is a lottery at this stage. Harrington? Clifton? Who know's who will still be available. Maybe we could look at a recycled player. If Morrison or Harvey are available then pick 42 for them wouldn't be so bad.

I think we are one pick away from a big name Draftee!, sucks balls!

here is my predictions though:

1st Pick : Troy Chaplin- dont mind if it is chaplin dunn or ray all good players. and what I have seen of Chaplin he looks great, and Farren has shown he is a potential superstar, racking up big numbers in the WAFL league.

2nd Pick: Nathan Foley/David Mundy-hope Mundy so much would be able to help scarlett and harley out in defence, apparantlley best FB by a mile in the TAC cup. Mundy local boy won Falcons B and F seems like a good player.

3rd Pick: Mark Blake F/S- Best Ruckman in TAC cup real pick up to get him in a draft with limited ruckmen.

4th Pick: Dont know but maybe, Herrington/Travers/Kent/Cosgriff.

There is NO CHANCE that Sylvia or Tenace will be available at pick 6.

Farren Ray looks great from what i've seen except he's a twig.

Cooney, Sylvia, Bradley and Tenace are all going to be gone by the time we have our pick.

Dunn, Watts, Chaplin and Ray should all be around by pick 7 out of them i'd take Dunn or Ray but it'd be a shame to miss out on Watts.

That's the point Moo. With Cooney, Tenace, Sylvia, Walker, Bradley, Clarke and Ray one of them has to be available at our pick. Maybe two if you go by draft history where they is always a shock. Nobody can judge what order they will go in and as we have the last pick of the seven we should just take the best available player. That's what I'd do.
It looks as though Ray could be that player and then it comes down to a decision of need for the club on wheather we take Ray or Chaplin a few places higher than he's woth b/c he's a KP player.

Chaplin, Watts, Dunn, McLean, and Moody probably make up the next bracket of players

Does this mean that Nathan Ablett is officially no chance of playing at Geelong in 2004??

Pick 22 is 2nd round. If Nathan Ablett came under father-son that would mean we use our 3rd round pick.

I reckon we can just about give up on Nathan for this year. Pick 22 is a pick that can't be wasted. The best we can hope for is for Nathan to decide to play in the VFL with Geelong next year and then we pick him up in the 2004 draft.

Draft

There is NO CHANCE that Tenace or Sylvia will still be there when we have our first pick.
Maybe now some people will see how costly those last 1 or 2 wins were.
I mean its great to win, but we gained nothing from them.
In a thin draft I fear that there wont be much left.

There is no way that Tenace or Sylvia will last til 7 unless there are a couple of rushes of blood in the head of other teams recruiters.

I would have loved to seen who people picked last year and how many would have got it right... none i'd guess.

This year could be the same considering everyone is picking KPP when we have Graham, Mooney, Kingsley, Lotes and throw in the youngsters in Playfair, Mcarthy, Mackie, Blake and maybe N Ablett, so i'm guessing they will target more of a wingman type player.

I know of one youngster that is under close watch by the cats and i was told half way through the 2002 season by one of the recruiting staff at geelong that this kid would go number 1 in the 2003 draft as he wasn't eligible to be drafted in 2002. Now i don't know about number 1 when clubs are looking for KPP players, but i do know one thing and that is that he is definately worth number 7 and wouldn't surprise to see them swoop if the Bombers don't grab him at 6.

I'm refering to Ricky Dyson from the Northern Nights. The kid has plenty of go his achievements are just great. He made all australian in 2002 and 2003, not a bad feat making all australian in 2002 being a year younger than everyone else. He also would have romped the Nights B/F if he had not have been injured and missing heaps of games, he was over 40 points ahead before beeing injured. In the draft camp he was always in the top 6 for most events. And his biggest asset is his long kicking, a leftfooter that can roost it as long as graham, Ray (slug) Jordan will vouch for that.

So you may want to add this kid on the phantom night as well.
