I would be happy to offer Hooker plus a second round pick for Caddy and their 4th round. KPD is clearly an area of concern for GC - therefore the opportunity to acquire a top 10 KPD would be a good and fair offer IMO.

If Hooker plays out the year it then becomes a much better offer as he has now proven he can play a full season without some pinging. Which is amazing at Essendon after what has been happening.

Let's wait and see so wish we could have landed Jon hay, Sam power or Ben McKinley. Williams didn't work for us but we got carlisle out of the deal. The same carlisle your club overlooked for black-unlucky.
The name Carlisle is generally associated with Andrew Walker. He's made a nice start to his career, but don't get too cocky.

Why is it only Essendon supporters can look at last years trade and think it was reasonable??

Again - Hooker only played 2 games in half a season. Putting up a broken player is not reasonable.

Hooker plays 2 games in half a season and Caddy plays 2 games in a full year.

One is broken but the other is new !

Anyway, if this were a US sport, Essendon would be looking at trading the likes of Bellchambers and Carlisle away to find a way to get Caddy. Here in AUS we obviously value loyalty and team camaraderie. The ball's in their court, I think they have the surplus players to get it done. It's just a matter of how ballsy they want to be.

THE SPECULATION around Josh Caddy's future has taken a twist, with news his Melbourne-based girlfriend has moved to the Gold Coast.

Caddy unsuccessfully sought a trade to Essendon at the end of last year to be with his family, as his father Adrian battled heart problems.

Essendon and the Suns could not agree to terms, but speculation he wants to become a Bomber has remained, due to Caddy refusing to begin discussions on a new contract after his two-year deal expires at the end of 2012.

Essendon and other Melbourne-based clubs have maintained their interest in Caddy but that could be fruitless as he looks to set up his life in south-east Queensland with girlfriend Sarah.

"She's a Melbourne girl and she's come up which has made things better," Caddy told AFL.com.au.

"She seems to be liking it. She just got a job and she's loving the weather, she's a beachy sort of girl so she's enjoying herself."

And the news is looking more positive for Adrian Caddy who recently had a triple bypass operation.

"It was the week leading into the (round 15) game against Geelong. I went back to Melbourne during the week and spent a couple of days with him in hospital," Caddy said.

"He's out of hospital now and it's all going well."

Wont be going anywhere, sorry Essendon guys.

It depends how essendon value these two, I'd suggest very highly. Based on current output and the fact that these two play more difficult positions, they have been better performed than caddy. Caddy of course has been in the system for a little less time and is playing in a weaker team. The suggestions of a north supporter in here that essendon would have to part with both melksham and bellchambers to get caddy is fanciful. Caddy wants to play for essendon and essendon is keen to get him but essendon won't be held to ransom. If we miss out we won't be selling the farm like last year a reasonable will be made.

Inside mids with strength and pace are certainly not dime a dozen, though.

After playing just two senior games last season, Caddy has ensconced himself in the Gold Coast midfield this year, playing all 15 senior games and earning himself a nomination for the NAB AFL Rising Star award for his part in Saturday's heart stopping win over Richmond.

The most memorable highlight of Caddy's first AFL win was the after-the-siren goal by Karmichael Hunt to win the game. Hunt's match-winning goal will live on as one of 2012's true highlights but Caddy's effort just a few minutes earlier deserves similar adulation.

With the Suns trailing the Tigers by 16 points with four minutes to go, Caddy accepted a handball from Sam Day 70 metres from goal. He threw the ball on his boot, hoping to drive it forward, instead kicking one of the longest goals of the year.

But Caddy admits he didn't think he was within scoring range.

"We were finessing and mucking around with it a bit much and I knew there wasn't long left. I got it and just wanted to kick it as far as I could down into the forward line to give the forwards a chance," he said.

"I just got on to it and it went straight and went through. To be honest, I wasn't having a kick for goal I was just trying to get it as far as I could down there."

I hope Caddy comes and plays for Essendon, but reality is he won't end up a bomber.

Guys, time for you people to pull your fingers out and stop taking pot shots at each other and the clubs your fellow posters support.

Time to get some serious discussion on Josh Caddy back on track, otherwise, think it might be time to close this thread and re open it when (quite) a few people have calmed down in a week or so..

Ill leave it up to you guys now, but no more pot shots or bagging one another out.

Deal?

Personally I would like to see him stay as I rate him very highly but if he goes I hope North get him, a top 10 pick for us and a up and coming team for him sounds like a win / win to me. The hard part is I think the Dogs and Demons will be sniffing about and may well have a better pick to offer.

We wont go for him. We'll be going into the draft with both our picks (unless we go for the mini draft with one).
