I see we’re being written off again.
Won’t bother watching Footy Calcified tonight but had to laugh at this. Talk about clutching at straws. Once the Vic media gets set on a narrative they hammer the hell out of it.
They’ve trawled the stats trying to find our poor record at night away from Optus on a full moon in leap years.
As has been said ad nauseam on this forum the fact we’re in a QLD hub was not to blame for last nights loss. We were outplayed by a side fighting for their own finals prospects, missing the majority of our starting midfield, a rotation down from early in the second quarter, copped a questionable goal review going against us and even then nearly stole the game via an arguably soft free kick to JD.
But accordingly to the collective intellect of The Grass Tossing Sniper, Chompers and Carowhine “wEst CoAsT cAN’t wIN iN ThE hUb!”
Spare me.
It was a shame we made the 2018 gf because we were no chance of winning it according to some. Didn’t age well.I'll take 50/50 against the top 4 on 'neutral territory'. If we were playing Richmond or Geelong in Melbourne we'd be called 0/100 prospects.

On the Arc decisions, it is amazing how many of the soft goal umpire calls will favour the VFL teams. Not just us, but when Port, Brissie etc play a Victorian team, the soft call goes in the Vicco's favour and it is up to Arc to prove it isn't inconclusive.
Actually he did, while trying to get a bite out of Simmo about it when they crossed to him.Apparently, Whately has nothing to say about the ARC now.
All season he’s been leading the charge for it to be reviewed but suddenly, tonight, just tacit agreement with Robbo about whatever bullshit his pickled brain vomits out.
Bottom line is an incorrect ARC decision probably just cost us top 4. Honestly we all know the ARC is just some noob in a channel 7 van watching the telecast. How is it possible that he didn't see the conclusive vision? No it doesn't.
You guys are so bitter.

So you think that before the goal umpire refers it upstairs, he has a quick think about the team and if it's a Victorian team he makes sureOn the Arc decisions, it is amazing how many of the soft goal umpire calls will favour the VFL teams. You're giving the players too much of an out IMO.What is going on now is 75% the result of injuries and fatigue. We have been decimated in our midfield, forwardline and our AA CHB is struggling after his return from a fractured thumb. The other 25% comes from the AFL also being nice enough to fixture us at night every ******* week at a ground where the dew turns it into a wet weather game. That directly counters our great strength in the air and magnifies our deficiency on the ground. The compressed fixture coming just before finals and the weekly night scheduling are all just coincidences I'm sure.

Yes, injuries have killed us, but we were fully fit in the first part of the hub, and losing three in a row really hurt us.
I know you will give another excuse like we didn't have an end date.
Other clubs have injuries and a compressed fixture.
It is OK to say we aren't good enough without looking for an excuse.
There are so many sliding door moments. Kennedy HTB, Nelson running too far.
To single out the ARC is an easy out, and just an excuse for some folks to marinade in their bitterness that they love so much.
didnt impact the contest so a diodgy umpiring decision - there are so many. But the ARC defied immutable laws of physics and stuffed up. Similarly it was a poor decison by the goal ump who if in position could clearly see it was touched under the same laws of physics. U12 standardsDon't forget Rotham having a brain fade with a block he had no need t do.

This vision clearly shows McGoverns hand on the ball and its not over the line. The other vision was blurry.

Too many posters on ignore these days, so not sure if it's been posted already, but I assume there'll be some melts over the 22under22 list just announced?
I don't disagree with itHaven’t seen any. We only had Allen, but can you make a case for anyone else on our list? Maybe Rotham?
Two camers. the AFL only pay for poor quality 'slow' cameras so the frames are far apart in time and dont give enough fidelity. I suspect one camera had a frame that showed the ball not over the line (Thus it wasnt) and the other showed a later frame in time.Which was the “conclusive vision”? The shot from one goalpost showing the ball over the line before Gov touched it? Or the shot from the other goalpost showing it wasn’t over the line?
We fought hard and made mistakes. The ARC did cost us a win.Can we please drop the discussion about the goal camera? Its starting to get a bit minnow-club in here. I expect this sh*t to eat up pages and pages of the Freo or Melbourne boards, but not here.
Fact of the matter is that we should never have been in a position to allow such a decision to impact the result anyway. Dogs left the door open for us all night and we sh*t the bed hard. Yes we had injuries and a short turn around, but the Dogs are not a good side and it shouldnt have mattered. In reality we dicked around with the ball for approx. half a game in our backline because we didnt want to/ couldnt move the ball fast enough through the center, and the few times it did end up in our forward 50 we didnt convert enough chances. Regardless of who we played thats a recipe for defeat any day of the week.
The goal camera didnt lose us the game. We did that ourselves. Im almost tempted to say it was a very "West Coast" way to lose a crucial game.
Would've liked to see Ainsworth get a gigHaven’t seen any. We only had Allen, but can you make a case for anyone else on our list? Maybe Rotham?
