Important - All Rfc People(22/12/04)

now the national draft is done, we are all realising that this is the beginning of the re-birth of our club. there is also one other VERY important thing all us RFC members have to do before 2005 season starts. we have to elect who is going to lead our club. Speaking as a member, i doubt many more than 10% of members really know what they are voting for. We have gotta make sure we vote the right people into the job - and im calling on all those richmond ppl on here who are in the know of who should come in, stay or go to start trying to educate the rest of us into heading all in the one right direction. i dont know alot about footy politics - but this is what i know -

*TW and Miller must be recieving full support.

*a club with as many supporters and members as us should NEVER lose 2.5m in a year, while Brisbane & collingwood record 2mil+ profits.

*Frawley was not the right appointment and never should have been locked in for a 5 years.

*players like bourke and zantuck should never be getting signed to contracts worth $200,000+ a season.

*paying top dollar to keep our own players (gasper, holland) must not happen.

*that as bad a casey has performed - has board room scruffles EVER helped our club - but in saying that, is this the one time when we must? its not just about coming bottom, its about avoiding a"SAVE OUR SKINS" again

*We are the only club that would ever publically come out and offer the vice presidency to someone BEFORE checking to see if he was a member. Embarrassing no matter how much they try to water it down.

*is anyone on the new ticket worth having any more belief in? I dont want to have a situation where we vote because we angry at our clubs lack or success on and off the field. we have to vote based on who is the best suitor to the job.

i think everyone should make sure they go on the 22nd of december(i mean the 22nd of december!?? WHO has time to attend anything around the 22nd of December? Is casey trying to make ppl not go?) - we need to do this right, we have one shot to get it right ppl. lets not stuff it up. otherwise deledio will just be another ottens, and tambling will turn into a fiora. its hasnt been all the players faults why we are so stuffed.

Id be happy for franklin to become a fiora. As he is at Hawthorn. But your points are correct, its the board situation that I dont have confidence in at the moment

sorry. i meant tambling. i had franklin on the mind cos i was reading about him.

does anyone give a ******** about the board room business? or are we all to busy pulling each other off about how good we are because came dead last and got the top young players? then when next year we have the same problems we all will turn feral and call for blood, and blame each other? we'll lose another million or two, lose our top young players, and everyone will be laughing and making banners about richmond ""self destructing" again?

I think we need to give a toss about the board, becaause if Casey goes, Miller will go, and we will yet again be in a sprial of self destruction

I'm enjoying pulling each other for the time being,

To be honest I am not aware enough for the shortcomings of all the candidates and I'm not sure whether there is going to be much difference anyway. Nor do I have the time or the interest to really follow it as they all probably spin a lot of crap.
I do know that for the first time in decades our Football department seems to be on track and I think we are moving forwards. And rising up the ladder will be the best way to improve out financials.

Anyway I don't think you can be critical of Richmond internet forum posters expressing some joy about getting some good young players and a decent coach. If you feel so strongly about this why not actually start campaigning for your chosen saviour.

BTW I do agree with many of your points, however many people choose not to get involved with the boardroom and would rather just support the team they love.

It's a postal vote.
No need to go to the AGM unless you particularly want to.

I don't think its a postal vote fishfinger. Members will have or will shortly receive their notice of an AGM meeting in the mail. Read it carefully, if you can't attend you need to organise a proxy vote, it won't be mailed to you unless you ring and ask for it first (at least thats how it reads).

i think its important to go, because otherwise, we have no real idea who we are voting for. just names on a paper. i'm very concerned that this election could really mess up the "NEW ERA". we gotta be smart about it. i know its not "footy", and stuff, but if we want our club to succed and "awaken" we need to get involved and get educated about this. did anyone get the tiger newsletter in the mail? the new CEO Wright's article was very good, and he seems to really understand our shortcomings, and has a realistic attitude in improving them. Was very disappointed in Casey's article because i thought it would be a good time for him to outline what his plans are for the future. instead it just went over things we knew, and made promises that we have heard before.

Also the theory on playing richo further up the ground by TW really makes me wonder what DF was doing. it's a pretty simple theory really, and danny really never tried it at all last year. i think with richo at hff, stafford in ff, simmonds in ruck, and maybe a morrison or at chf - it really improves our structure for goals. along with the types of krak, and tambling around them is a very exciting prospect.
